Top Six Technology Annoyances...now that I have had the car a while

I agree. I wondered the same thing when I bought my 17 Optima SXL. It was fully loaded, nappa leather, wireless charging, 360 camera, ventilated seats, etc...but no BT text support.

What made it more strange is that I traded a 2016 4runner for it. The 4runners infotainment system is from 2011ish and it had BT text support.

I'm not sure why Kia won't include it on their cars. I bet there's some weird company wide weird legal reason though.
Maybe the same reason Tesla was under scrutiny when a driver slammed into a semi truck with the autopilot on while he was watching Harry Potter or the Tesla driver caught sitting in the passenger seat while the car was autonomously driving.

Time to embrace Apple CarPlay and or Android Auto. All the car companies are integrating those into their systems. Plus they don’t have to upgrade to keep them current, as Apple does all the updating. I wouldnt buy a vehicle without Apple CarPlay. I had Bluetooth text in my Ford Fusion and it worked well, but Apple CarPlay does it way better and I’m sure Android Auto does as well. With Bluetooth, you have to rely on the car manufacturer to make the user experience a good one; we all know that car manufacturers don’t do a good job of that. With Apple CarPlay there is no need to take your eyes off the road nor reach to the screen to tap an icon. Txt, talk, music, contacts all work perfectly well from the button on the steering wheel, and it is twice as fast and more repsonsive that Bluetooth. THere is a hands free way to txt in the Stinger and it’s call Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

I only wish the nav on the Apple/Android apps integrated with the heads-up display, like the native nav does.

Yah - that would be slick!

Has anyone figured out a way to run both at the same time - i.e. put in the same destination in both the app and the native nav and have the heads-up display the native nav directions and the screen display the app map/directions?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I think if you did that you risk causing a harmonic distortion in the space/time continuum and your Stinger becomes a Rio.
