The lease on my present car is up in Aug. I'd like to get a GT2 RWD with red seats, but searching my local area's inventory (200 miles out in SE Florida) shows nothing available. Thus, I'm thinking of factory ordering, leasing, and then buying out the lease. Am I correct in assuming that factory ordering is still available? If it is, I'd appreciate any tips to be aware of during the ordering process. Thanks.

When you search for RED seats you won't find it on the sticker it will always say black interior

I've uploaded an example here. As you can see on the left at the top the car is listed as Snow White Pearl with Black interior. Now look at the second column it shows Red Interior Color Package.

No idea why Kia did it this way but it makes it impossible to search any dealer or really any car site for a car with red interior they will all be listed as black until you look at every single window sticker. Also, be aware dealers are horrible at posting correct pictures so always call ahead and make sure.

You might be better off finding a dealer you want to work with and then asking them what they can get for you.

There are 39 on Autotrader right now, but there are obviously many more with red interior out there.

As stated, find yourself a good dealer, if they don't have one, they can get one.

To the best of my knowledge, you've never been able to custom order here in the US.

Unless they have changed things, in the U.S. you cannot "factory order" a Stinger. You can order a car that is already built and in the "pipeline" but you cannot custom order one as far as I know. Tried it and lost the entire order because they didn't have one built that way. Had to re-order from pipeline.

Luckily for the 2019s the red interior is an option in more than one exterior color, unlike in 2018. However ordering from factory has never been an option.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Luckily for the 2019s the red interior is an option in more than one exterior color, unlike in 2018.

I saw red interiors in black, white, ceramic and red 2018 Stingers at more than one dealer around here. It's one reason I was so frustrated I couldn't get it in a micro blue.

On 2018 the only way to get a GT2 with red interior(which is what OP is looking for), was with a ceramic grey, red or a black exterior color. A white with red interior was only possible on a GT1 trim back in 2018. They changed that for the 2019s.

For a brief while at the end of 2018 production they did have some white GT2’s with red interiors. Probably less than 50 out there, though.
