Ordered a thunder Grey 2022 Stinger GT Elite with suede on July 10th. Dealer couldn't tell me how long and expected it to be one month to three months due to the chip shortage. A month ago they told me it was on a boat to Vancouver, I managed to find and track a car carrier online that landed in Vancouver three weeks ago. Waited and waited and finally today is the day I get the keys.

This will be my third Kia in a row. 2014 Soul and then 2018 Niro hybrid and going to say goodbye to ICE with a 2022 Stinger. Going out with a bang!

Next car after this will be an EV I am guessing but will enjoy the hell out of this one until then.

Thanks for the welcomes all. Man I had a nice afternoon and evening once I got all the paperwork done. Looking forward to tomorrow with an Ikea run and a visit to the step father to show him my new Kia hatchback. Haha.

Took the new Stinger to Ikea in Etobicoke. It's a hatch...should work fine for Ikea stuff. Most of the stuff fits...except one countertop that is just a bit too wide. Had to leave it there to come back to get it later.

Two hours later, come back not in the CUV with roof racks...but in the Stinger again but with a portable saw. (Thankfully it was a piece I had to cut anyway for installation so I could drive the Stinger all day)

I actually told them two colours I would take. That might have worked in my favour. They said it could help if a car that colour came up.

Some of my favorite things so far...

Kia sending me UVO access to my car before I even signed the papers. I was logged on and controlling the car and making it take pictures of where it was three hours before I got the keys.

My little guy...not even two...I told him ok we're gonna go fast...and vrooom I floor it. First words out of his mouth next..."More!"

Realizing that the cruise control can do stop and go. So happy to get that without it being something I looked for.

Did I mention that my dealership scheduled me to pickup my car...and bring in a certified cheque on a bank holiday? They realized their mistake and let me take the car anyway and bring in the cheque the next day. I felt like I stole it!

Had my first Stinger encounter...guy at Ikea stopped to ask me what I was driving. Told him and he said it looked awesome and then as he walked away proceeded to tell his girlfriend what my car was too.

I am also amused by the Jeep and BMW SUVs trying to race me. What's up with that?
