Wow... this is bar none the liveliest I've seen here since I started frequenting this forum. Say what you want about the OP, but he sure knows how to bring the community together!

a small edit was required. the last time I saw a poster raise this much personal attention was some gal a year or more ago who said her stinger was a gt2 when it was a 2.0l. that was funny interchanges going on. didn't last nearly this long though. she routed out of here.

So no melted tire pics??? Fine, I'll post one.

My friend's after a track day event.

I don't deny that tires can melt. Just not the way that was initially claimed. I'm still waiting for pics of his tires/brakes/melted spots on his driveway.

That does look like hot tear to me. Not too bad though, but he probably could've raise the tire pressure a couple of psi. Getting the tire up to temp is actually a good thing. In fact, tire warmers are almost a requirement for DOT race tires, as they don't work well at all cold. Even with regular sportbike tires, it's not a bad idea for the colder months to get the bike up to track pace quicker.

Makes me want to dust off my gixxer track bunny and sign up for a track day. Have not done one on 2-wheel in a long while.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Reading all of this madness and to think...it started out by a trace amount of rubber in the OP's drive way.
