Good Tire Rack- Great Experience!

So I initially ordered my Eibach Pro kit on 2/24/21 from Tire Rack. They had a deal for the kit at $578 (springs/sways for AWD). The inventory was depleted I think on the same day and I was on back order. I called Eibach and they it could take as long as May before getting the order. They claimed it was based on production of the front springs and the supplier of the wire. I called Eibach today before calling Tire Rack to check on their production and they moved the time of production to end of July! I called tire Rack and talked to Andrew. He felt bad and he figured out how to split the order up and get me what I needed. I am receiving all of the parts (coming from 2 different locations and different shipment days) by next Friday. Most importantly, he was able to honor the original price I paid for the combo Pro kit (Eibach springs and sways are more expensive normally if purchased separately). So, I was thoroughly impressed with Andrew and Tire Rack for making sure I was happy by working through the issue and honoring the original price.

They even threw in tire warranty coverage on the PS4 rears I bought replacing the PS4s ones.

I haven't ordered from Tire Rack directly but people seem to say good stuff about them.

Bought tires directly from Tire Rack and also used their prices to negotiate with my local Americas Tires or Firestone. Never had a problem I couldn't resolve with either. Love Tire Racks new warranty policy.

But in recent years I've been able to find the tires I want locally for about the same price, so tire rack has been more a research tool than source for tires lately. We can all probably thank them for cheaper local tires because prior to them becoming a major site and popular option, the offerings and pricing locally was always substandard.

Silly question but which local tire shops would you trust? Any tire shop? In the past I would order tires directly through Tirerack to my home and have them mounted/balanced at a local shop. Right now I am down in Florida. I should have had the work done in New York by our trusted guy but decided to wait.

Google reviews and Yelp would be your only options, other than word of mouth. I had a good local tire shop near where I lived in NY. In Vegas, I've only needed tires once and used the local Discount Tire which just happens to be a good location, but not all of them are.

On crappier prior cars I even used Walmart a couple times, using Tire Rack to research something they also carried/in stock. But that was in a crunch, which I needed tires sooner than later, and on the budget end due to the nature of the car. On more recent vehicle (nicer) I wouldn't trust someplace like Walmart with the car.

Another foolish question but is it a bad idea to order a set of brand new Bridgestone all-season tires to put on my rear while keeping the front half worn Michelin summer tires on? I do not need to replace the front tires since they have about 50% tread life left. My concern though is mixing different types (summer vs all-season) from different brands.

Tricky question, usual line of thinking is after a certain % of tread use, to swap all of them if AWD. But with a staggered AWD setup it's different, just not sure how different. The tires new are still the same diameter, just different tread widths(?). I'd imagine similar rules apply due to the nature of how AWD works, and having slightly different diameter tires creates issues.

I'm not sure it matters at all with a RWD Stinger.
