i know there are other thread areas this could be posted into but I thought I would start some thing fresh with tip of the day for the newbies. There are alot of newbies who may find it difficult to locate some first time queries so im going to start it off with one of the first things i was trying to find out how to do with the car. Feel free to add something but keep in mind its for the newbies.

NOTE
Experienced members can post links but dont discuss. Newbies you can search for the tip on the forum where the discussion is.
The thread was designed to give newbies a quick link. Do not discuss in length thanks.
Keep it clean so newbies dont have to wade thru miles of posts discussions.

HOW TO ADJUST HATCH HEIGHT
Ok, fully open you will need approx. max. 2.1 mtr height this should give you some clearance. To adjust opening height to suit your needs you open tailgate then manually hold or push it to your required position then push & hold button in tailgate door until it beeps then your height should be set.

Note: perform this function in open air to ensure it is set as I am no expert, my dealer showed me.

Then close the gate and next time it opens will be in the new position.

LIFTING WIPER ARMS - BEWARE
My tip is to be careful when lifting the wiper arms off the windscreen, beware they will hit the edge of the bonnet & you could potentially damage your paintwork.
To do this successfully when you turn the engine off you have 20-30 seconds to hold the wiper control stork UP, this will move the wiper arms to the vertical position & hold (then release wiper control arm) then you can safely lift them off the windscreen for cleaning & service purposes.

HOT TRANSMISSION TUNNEL FIX
Dont leave heater controls on in back seat the heat running down the pipes to back area will cause over heating near drivers leg. Leave heat off in back and leave climate control on all the time.

KEYLESS ENTRY - STORE FOB IN A SAFE PLACE.

First time owner of a keyless entry car? Read this!

Carthieves love keyless entry fob’s. They use a scanner and get close to your house hoping to pick up the signal. If they have a signal their scanner sends that signal to a second scanner held by a second thieve. He will be very close to your car and will now be able to open AND START your car and drive off.
So store the fob away from your doors/windows or shield it.

KEYLESS ENTRY - STORE FOB IN A SAFE PLACE.
Addendum: A Safe Place is only a faraday box or bag. This a specially made multiple layer cloth lining that masks radio signals. You can find any number of sellers on Amazon and similar online merchants. I got my faraday bags for eight bucks plus shipping; a two pack, obviously one for each fob. The spare fob is kept in a Brinks lockbox; which interestingly is no better than a "tin": i.e. no good at all; so it is in a faraday bag in the lockbox. Radio signals pass in and out of it at will. At night, I close my fob in the other faraday bag and go to sleep in perfect confidence that no army of scanners prowling around outside my house will ever pick up the first particle of a radio signal from either fob.

The Brembo’s seem to need a break-in to avoid warped rotors.

Brembo - Bedding Procedure Guide

Note: Replacement pads need bedding. OEM pads on our cars are already bedded. Merlinthemad

I strongly recommend anyone with any car anywhere bed their pads when new - new car or new pads.
