my 2018 now has 48k for miles, and since I switch over to winter tires my original tires are just now in need of replacement. Any suggestions or thoughts on tires to look at ?
I replaced my factory PS4 tires with PS4S. They're amazing tires but I wouldnt do it again, theyre a very expensive tire and I dont push the car hard enough to make them worth my while. I will go probably go with Bridgestone Potenza Sports or something next time because my local Costco seems to have a decent deal on them.

Dang, didn't realize my rears had so much wear on them, time to order! I went to repurchase the Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02's, but saw the Potenza Sport's on sale for $550 Delivered after a $70 rebate....pretty much rated 3rd in Max Performance Summer- after the Conti's and Michelins, so for that price I'll give them a try, almost 1/2 price for a well-regarded tire...going with the 245/40 this time, for the rim protection.

I thought the tires would wear more evenly in the AWD 2.5T version, boy was I wrong! Seeing the fronts was easy- looked like they have another 4-5k miles left. it wasn't until I fell into a crater, I mean pothole, that I found the rears tires were halfway into the wear bars, when getting the rear rim repaired. Potenzas actually feel pretty nice, they look great too in 245/40''s. A tad more cushion, but the rim rash protection is immeasurably improved and they fill the wheel wells a bit better. Happy with them at the 300mi mark! If I qualify for a 2nd $60 rebate, I might buy a spare set- $560 for a set, after rebate, is a stunningly good price for these tires....guess I need to update my Sig.
I bought a set of Potenza Sport earlier this year as our back up track tires, in case we want to run both Stinger/G70 at the same event, Either that or if the event got rained on, as the Kumho V730's are basically DOT slicks. The Potenza's didn't disappoint. My son normally beats me at AutoXs consistently, in the same car. However, at the track sprint back in May, my best lap time in the Stinger on Potenza Sport (on 18x8 stock wheels) actually beat my son in the lighter G70 on V730 (on TFR 18x8.5). Granted this is the second season we've run the V730s, so they were well heat cycled and probably starting to pass their prime, but still. The Potenza Sports turn in sharp and behave well at the limits. Realistically, I think they are overkill for everyday road driving. I'd buy them at the discounted price over any of the competitors in this class, but it's still a bit of a waste on public roads. Will sure handle real well though.
If i was swapping winter and summer tires, i would stick with ps4s. I didn't want to swap tires, so i went with ps4a/s which i was very happy to have for the one cold week we had in New Jersey this winter.
I have a winter wheel set and live/work a few hrs north of you. I also have clients and rentals properties in Lake Placid/Saranac Lake areas, so their winters are VERY real. The AWD Stinger is pretty capable in the snow with dedicated winter tires. The PS4s are great tires, but they're about $1500 for the set, the Potenza Sports are $550 after rebate and is a really, really good tire as well!
