Those red things

Shortly after I got my GT2, my wife looked at it and said, "What are those red things in the wheels?"

"Those are the brake calipers", I replied.

"Why are they red? they stick out like a sore thumb."

"They're SUPPOSED to 'stick out', they're Brembo brakes and people WANT them to stand out so others know they have them."

Then a couple months later we run across a friend of hers. This lady says, "Your car is gorgeous. But what are those red things in the wheels?"

"Brake calipers. They're Brembo brakes."

"Oh. But why are they red?"

ask your wife and/or her friend what that thing is that they're always carrying. "A purse." Um, well, is it supposed to stick out like a sore thumb?

Actually, I pointed out some of the YELLOW calipers on a Ferrari a few days later and really blew her mind!
