This will be my next car

Is there a link to anything hinting at this becoming reality? Hyundai has teased the idea since the original Genesis Coupe got cancelled but never gave any indication something was actually coming down the pipe.

Agreed. It will also end up looking vastly different than that rendering if released. They always do.

I dont think it will never make it to production ...................nice eye candy but virtually no market for it , especially from a Korean brand .................nice looking car though ..................we all must dream .......:)

Like the looks. My metro area plus still doesn't have a "Genesis" dealership, though. But I'll be happy to root it on anyway.

The "future" Genesis coupe already has the design elements of the most current Genesis G90 so I think is very likely it will become reality, also the Genesis Essentia concept is already giving us clues that Hyundai is secretly developing a new Halo sports car, I am so thrilled about what Genesis will bring in the future.

2020 Genesis Sports Car @ Top Speed

Word of Genesis’ plans to develop a sports car got out in January 2018, when Hyundai design vice president Luc Donkerwolke told Wheels Magazine that "we are definitely doing it. We are not going autonomous for all of our cars." In addition, the brand’s head of R&D, Woong-chul Yang, confirmed that Genesis wants a sports car and that its development will be handled by Hyundai’s N performance division. Not much is known about it at this point, but we created a rendering of the car, and we will discuss what we already know about this project in the speculative review below.

Kia also revamped and released a new K900 in the US despite it only selling 1.5 K900s over 5 years (ok I made that up, but it’s close to 1.5...) I’d be surprised if it’s a 2 door couple though.

Not real. :D I get nadda with a picture search. So, CGI BMW M8, is my best guess. (Not a car guy, I feel like reminding you.)

Look at the Stinger cues; the "apostates" (those hired away by Kia) who mimicked the "German cars" with the Stinger have spawned cues in turn; the venting and grills and "island" hood and indents are all Stinger nods.

Sure how much money you wanna put down? Same thing they said about the Stinger that there is no market for a sporty 50k Kia, yet Kia built the car.
Lets put a bottle of Don Julio 70 on it OK ? When HKM see how many Telly's and Pally's they can seel they will back shelf cars and focus all their $$ on the SUV segment , I've seen the Gennie Coupe concept and it is beautiful ....................But I doubt it will get to production ...................ImHo !!

A sports car, espeically one to be seen as a halo car, doesn't need to turn a profit by itself or sell huge numbers. For Genesis the goal of this car would more likely be to have the brand taken more seriously and draw more attention to Genesis and any money the car directly makes through sales is a plus. Of course, once they have that attention, it means jack sh!t if there's no dealers around to see and buy the damn things but I guess that bridge will get crossed when they get there.

I totally agree BUT they are struggling to sell the G70,80,90 right now and are desparate to get the GV SUV launched , and with minimal dealer distribution I just cant fathom how a 2 dr coupe will get any mgmt or financial priority ................

This is what they announced in 2016.
They are a bit behind schedule, but have been releasing all vehicles in order.
SUVs are in development and coupe will definitely come as well.
