Think my head unit had a brain fart! Front speakers cut out.

This was so weird. So in my 2023 GT Line which I have the premium sound system, listening to the radio when a text message comes in from a friend.

After I cleared it I noticed there was no sound coming from any of the front speakers! Rear speakers working fine. Played around the settings and sound position but nothing worked. Even turned it off and on. WTF! Did something blow on the head unit or amp or maybe a fuse??

So got home and turned off the car. Figure I wait a bit to see if it resets after locking the doors. In the meantime looking in the fuse section of the manual.

So ten minutes later, started it back up and and all is good! Everything working as it should!

All this tech is scary! At least it’s not Microsoft running it. So weird!

Sounds like it left the front muted after the alert came from the text.
Try switching to a different source next time and see if that fixes it.

It could be a version of the speaker fade to the rear issue, which plagued a number of forum members but I haven't seen anyone mention it in some years. Some even had their entire stereo central unit replaced. Ima not sure what it's actually called - "head unit?" - just remember a major expensive factory warranty replacement. Hopefully it's not that and just as you say a brain fart. Ima with you, electronics are the constant fear I have that something will start to misbehave and won't be able to find out what or wind up being super expensive to fix.

Yea tried that, radio to media. First time it ever did that.

Well first time it ever did that since I got the car last December. Hopefully as I mentioned just a brain fart!
