The White Stuff

Was the light green or yellow? Green, it is working correctly and the engine shuts down, yellow, it is working but something (maybe low battery charge) is preventing it from shutting the engine off. Were you using the heated steering wheel and seats? I've read they draw a lot of power so will put a load on the battery.
I am pretty sure she means that there shouldn't be an Autostop (actually ISG) icon showing on the dash when she has the thing turned OFF. That would be right. I always turn my ISG off, and I have never seen the "A" icon light up, amber, green or otherwise.

The ASG will work with the heated seat and steering wheel on, but it won't work with the rear defroster on.

Wierd thing is, I always turn my Auto stop and go off as soon as I start the car, and today was no different. At every red light with my foot on the break, the light came on in the dashboard like it had turned the engine off, but the engine was clearly still running. Was really strange. Going to have to ask about it at my next service.
Glad the trip was safe and uneventful! I wonder if the stop/start has any condition based limits. I wonder if there is there a minimum temperature that it won't cut off so that the occupants stay warm? Interesting note on the defroster... You would think that if it was a current draw type of thing, the heated seats and steering wheel heat would keep the engine on.

What the heck is that white stuff on the ground in the op?

Asked the guy from Phoenix who forgets he grew up in Minnesota. :)

Drove mine to work yesterday and no issues for me. I was also driving 30 mph, but my comp 2as handled the snow and slush just fine so I'm happy.

It was yellow, and I was using both the Heated steering wheel and seats, but I had that systems turned off as I always do. I have never seen that light come on in any other situation when I had the system turned off.

Same here. So glad I went with the AWD. I had a scare on the way home as the car coming the opposite direction "decided" to slide over into oncoming traffic in front of me. Luckily it was only a side street and not the main highway! She held up just fine. I even got to have some fun in our unplowed culdesac

As luck would have it, DC had a dusting, sleet, freezing rain and then rain. Only saw accumulated snow when I got in my neighborhood, after 7 last night and the streets were plowed so nothing to drive in. Then again, I didn't have my car so I can't share any experience in it.
