The journey begins

I've never driven a Stinger.
I've never sat in a Stinger.
I've only ever seen one Stinger out on the road before in real life.
Yet tomorrow I will pick up a new, fresh-off-the-boat, GT Arctic Grey with Red Leather. (Australia)

Let the journey begin :)
Congratulations. You’ll have an ear to ear for weeks. As RedCal suggests post up some pictures. And welcome to all things Stinger. Cheers

(a little) Bit more too it than that... not like I was drunk buying things on eBay one night... which can & does occur too :D

It was more a case of following & researching Stinger casually for a few months, then an opportunity came up to grab one from a dealer that was arriving in a few weeks... that was the exact spec/colour that I was wanting, and they had lost their original buyer. My current lease ends in April and I was aiming for a new car sometime in 2023... It was meant to be. So I jumped in and skipped the 6-8+ months waiting queue for new orders.

Very happy with her so far.

Thanks... replacing a 2016 Mazda 6 Atenza (GT) Turbo Diesel (red w/ white leather). A really great car (still) to look at and drive that I will miss dearly. Esp the fuel economy as it gets 4.5L/100km or around 1,000km per 55L tank. I'm guessing the Stinger will see me visiting the petrol station ever so slightly more often :D

I'm interested to see how the Stinger feels for low & mid-range punch, given that the Mazda had a healthy 420Nm of torque at 1,800rpm. Extremely usable in everyday driving on suburban roads and on the highway. Obviously, power is very different with Mazda 129kW/173hp vs Stinger at more than double that number.

Driving home from the dealer in a 50km mix of suburban Monday afternoon traffic and some highway running I notice the Stinger would happily sit at around 1300rpm at 100km highway speed limit... not even breaking a sweat. On the 60km / 80km suburban roads... the biggest challenge was staying under the limit with even the slightest throttle pressure. :) need to program that setting where the cruise control reads the speed signs. ;)

It's a lease car so I'll be keeping it fairly stock-standard for now... and look to some mods down the track... maybe exhaust & ECU.

She's sitting in the driveway outside now and... I can't wait to drive into work tomorrow. Can you tell I'm a little bit excited :p

(pics coming soon when the weather is more accommodating)

'meant to be', sure sounds like it. enjoy trying to stay close to the speed limit. this 3.3l feels like you are at the speed limit when you are easily 20 mph over, that takes some getting used to. smart cruise can save you.
