The JB4 Connect Install Guide

Sorry not able to read every thread on here... Email support if you need an OBDII cable.

While I'm here on the blue tooth connect kit we've made some changes also, pinning out the blue power wire to #2 on the DB9 which eliminates the need to posi-tap the JB4 harness. You'll start seeing those show up soon!

Hi Terry I'm new here and just installed my jb4 last night
I'm having connection issues with the jb4 bluetooth
Does the blue wire need to be connected internally or does it need any power reference

Me too. I have had it installed a few months now and still cannot get all the readings. I only get the 3 on the right.

Terry so everything is morning just have intermittent issue connecting to bluetooth due to it being under the hood
Do you know if the wires on the rev 3.6 have ground shielding
I would like to extend the wiring to place inside vehicle but don't want to mess up 140 dollars worth

You can extend the wires, but also make sure the blue tooth device is not attached to the metal enclosure as that can also reduce range.

That wouldn't help I would have to extend wires
But I might just do that

But Terry I really having bad connection issues with the application
I have 2 try with 2 different phones sometimes
Neither connect
Any recommendations

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
If you suspect a faulty JB4 mobile adapter send it in and we can send you a new one to rule that out.

Would I send it directly to burg. Or to the vendor I bought it from

Us is fine for that.

Can anyone provide insight/tips on how to run the obdii wire through the firewall to the engine bay? Following bms instructions, I don’t see how to pop the grommet out or move it to the side to get the wire through.

Thanks.

Just push it out from under the dash! Easy. :)

Hi Terry...I have read that this is a very easy step, but I am apparently missing something. When you say push it out from under the dash, does the entire grommet push through? I’ve pushed with a screwdriver and it doesn’t seem to want to push through.

Yes the entire grommet will push out.

Screwdriver!!!.......get some help before you @#%@ things up.

Is the JB4 now fully plug n play?

also is the Bluetooth needed for logging. I hear intermittent bt issues. Which concerns me.

how do you change maps without it?
Sorry I tried to search the forums but was having trouble finding these answers.

Jb4 is plug and play
And you do need bluetooth adapter to log
And won't be able to change maps without it
I had a issue with connection with my bluetooth when I bought and just mounted my jb4 under my cowl on driver side to eliminate the range

JB4 is designed to be plug and play. You can purchase the USB adapter or Bluetooth adapter.

With Bluetooth you can log and pull maps on the go. But you do need to purchase the app separately via google or apple store.

As for USB connection option you can change maps on the go and log as long as you have a laptop connected to it.

I wouldn't suggest that as the fuel wire orientation will then be wrong. You'd have to extend the short fuel wire for that to work.

On Bluetooth range just make sure the adapter itself is not attached to anything metal. Some customers attach it to the metal enclosure which reduces the range around 50%.

Hi Terry,
I just received my jb4 with the jb4 mobile connect kit rev. 3.7. I was going through the mobile install instructions. Mine does not come with the blue wire for connecting power for the bluetooth option. Did I receive the wrong one or is this an updated version?
I'm in a 2018 Kia Stinger GT1 RWD
