Marketing execs still seem to underestimate or discount affectioniado forums. The car market is really a global market with customers and potential in instant communication with each other. If KIA marketing professionals were smart, they would be monitoring this forum. They would learn a lot.

It can't be easy to roll out a new car like Stinger - a product where the brand is punching up in a big way. They should be ever diligent and reactive to internet postings and videos that become memes, rumors and opinions which are for all intents and purposes are the equivalent of focus groups.

I guess it is too inexpensive and easy to do this - hard to justify the big costs paid to ad agencies for research, when it can be done for free online.

Well......marketing can be disguised in many forms, this scenario is as feasible as any....lol

They will have a 3rd party ( agency ) monitor the internet for all forms of comment on their cars , this site is quite convenient and easy for feedback on the Stinger ...............a few years back when I was big on BMW someone reached out to me from an "agency" to get more feedback on my "issues" I was experiencing with my X6 Hybrid ....................long story , short , it was BMW ..............they heard about my issues from a forum !! BIG BROTHER is here ........................ !

Big brother is here, you only have to see the lack of freedom of speech allowed through the politically correct types. They where created through big business to supress the masses. Started through the over funded human resources/ marketing dept. Been reading about it lately.

Agreed from my end. This is the 1st forum I actually interact with, and a lot of credit goes to @Kia Stinger for curating what has become a very positive, informative, collaborative, and genuinely fun place to learn, laugh, and waste a bit of break time at work. Thanks again, Sal!

You guys caught me. I'm the owner of Kia. I really thought I could get away with starting a forum under the guise of just being an ordinary car guy - but, alas, the beans have been spilled. The cat is out of the proverbial bag...

In regards to freedom of speech - I'm not sure if you were referring to my request that we don't discuss politics here - but if so, it's not because I'm politically correct. I'm really way on the other side of that coin. I prefer to keep politics off the forum because it tends to destroy friendships - and community...

It's just a simple rule to keep things pleasant around here. Of course, this is an automobile forum - so politics related directly to the automotive industry is an exception to the rule. However, political discussions centered around politicians or non-automobile related policies are almost 100% of the time going to upset 50% of the people - and from my experience, that is no way to nurture a growing community.

The same goes for discussions regarding religion and sexual preference. There's really no necessity for this subject matter in an automobile community. If you disagree, I'm very interested because just because I feel a specific way about something - certainly doesn't make it right...

I actually read it with the "ed" attached! When all is said and done, I know I can't make everyone happy - but it's important to me that I at least give it my best shot. Whether you were making light of the situation or not - I feel it's my responsibility to at least make an effort at reaching out to see if I'm handling something the wrong way...

Thanks Kia Australia . Christmas came early, i was of 1 of 10 lucky enough to be contacted for a track day at Sydney motor sport park Eastern creek.

A bunch of Stingers where made available to practice launch control, hair pin cornering, slalom around cones, emergency breaking .Also accompanied fast laps and passenger laps. A mighty day it was. My lunch stayed down only just.

Impressions: thats one helluva safe car, them brembos really are serious anchors. Traction control really shows what a life safer it is. When off them tyres really howl!

Took some serious vids in board and out board, to hard and big to load. See the stills sorry.
