TH drag race with G70 and Type S

Gapplebees for the type slow. Also good to note the weight difference for a fully loaded Canada g70 and stinger is 161lbs. 4004 vs 4165.

Type Slow lol pitiful.

Even as a stinger owner i still feel bad for tlx. That car with that badge is clearly underpowered and way too heavy.

I don't think anyone driving an AWD Stinger should really call the TLX Type S too heavy. It's only 60-ish lbs heavier than Stinger.

Also, doesn't it reportedly handle better than the Stinger. Yes I know its a FWD biased AWD system, but the numerous track tests have me thinking its a more sporty handling car. Would love to see a head to head on a road course though.

I guess my expectations for " type s" brand are too high. That car needs to be under 3500lbs with 400+ hp engine. That would be the proper type s. Hopefully they won't screw it up with integra

If you watch the other Throttle House video on the TLX, they don't have very good things to say about how it handles.

Not that it's bad numbers-wise, but it's apparently not very fun to drive.

I could see the Integra with fwd and na engine like the brz. They will f it up just watch!

I dont think it will be that bad. It will probably be civic type r with different body panels.

I think the handling difference is the Stinger comes with "soft" stock sway bars... Hondas/Acuras used to be more fun, but they got Toyota-itis and got dull and uninspiring (former Honda owner)

Who wants to buy a Type S here ? Only 70k near my place

Very surprised how close the Stinger and G70 were in this contest, considering how many video reviews were confident the G70 is quicker, including James' and Thomas's claimed nemeses, Straight Pipes.

How much difference would you all expect from a dig (with good but not necessarily hero launches) and roll between AWD and RWD Stingers?

Thats why I went with Eibach

I was actually excited for the Type S and was waiting to see what kind of power it made before I bought my Stinger. Had an 08 TL type S and loved it. Seeing the horrible power-weight ratio of the new one made it a clear decision to get the Kia...words I thought i'd never say.
I will say, if the SH-AWD system in the TLX Type S is anywhere near as good as the NSX's AWD system, it'll be solid in the corners.

The Stinger is heavy because it's a liftback which requires extra structural bracing (same reason why the 4 Series GC and A5 Sportback are considerably heavier than their sedan counterparts; the liftback bodystyle also requires lengthening of the body for any type of adequate headroom in the 2nd row).

The Stinger is also on an older platform.

Compared to any of the other sedans that the TLX purportedly competes against, it's an absolute pig (and doesn't even have any more room at the rear despite its midsize dimensions).

There's a few, all fully loaded, AWD, and under $54k near me. But man, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed with Acura. I thought they were going to do something special with the Type-S. Instead, they just made a Japanese 540ix.

At least it LOOKS fast.

I love the styling of the Type S and I have a nostalgic attachment to that badge, but they really let it down performance wise.
