Maybe you a sunroof guy? I've never owned one and it's not a huge deal for me. I fact, not having it brings more headroom and space to the back
seat. W/sunroof, you lose about 2.5" of ceiling, so if you ever have tall backseat passengers... Just a thought. But I've never wanted to pay $2k or so for a sunroof.
I thought there was a thread about people who bought the "base" GT (that is, not GT1 or GT2) but I can't find it for the life of me. Just to elaborate on this point:
I went up to Murray Kia in Conshohocken, PA this past weekend as they were the only dealer around with a blue Stinger and I wanted to see what they looked like in person (great). I also wanted to look at a real Ceramic Grey in person before committing so I wasn't planning on buying then or making a final decision on color, but I had in my mind that I wanted a GT2 but - would I fit in it. Manager and sales guy were extremely pleasant and I didn't see a dealer markup posted, just stick price MSRP on all models/colors.
For any other gorilla shaped humans here, you might not fit in either the Premium with sunroof or GT1/2 with their mandatory sunroof, since the seats are the same. I'm 6'3" with barely a 30" inseam, so very ape-like. In the GT2 with the
seat all the way down and leaned back as much as I'd tolerate it, my head still touched (firmly) the frame of the sunroof. I sat in a base Premium without the sunroof and fit fine and had about ~1.5-2 inches of room from the top of my head to roof. Also, the Stinger's windshield edge height is nice enough for good viability out the front without hunching Just FYI. For me, sunroofs and the inability to delete them on high-tier packages are what has kept me from buying many, many cars I wanted and lead to many disappointing dealer visits after speccing out the "perfect" car.
I feel the need to post my specs because every time you search for "cars for tall drivers" or even just look at headroom stats, most people who say "Oh, I'm 6'8" and fit in a Subaru BRZ" are all legs and no torso, so for them it's just about cramming your legs in the foot well and having your knees not touch the wheel. Yes, people will post "just recline you're
seat" but sorry, I'm not driving a car with my seatback at a 140 degree angle and my skeleton looking like the guy on the right. I did that for many years in a Cavalier and even in my G35
