It's crazy. I work at a smaller BMW dealer and we've definitely felt the hit. Partly because people are buying less sedans and coupes and partly because the majority of Tesla owners are ex-BMW owners. Doesn't help that the supposed "ultimate driving machine" has become less and less so since the F30 came out and has REALLY lost it's way with the current G chassis.

I think when he says "German" he means the big 3 German luxury brands. Most people buying Teslas are people who would otherwise be shopping these three

I think what he's really saying is that electric cars (not just Tesla) are going to hurt Germany's car industry. Specifically, he's saying as German auto manufacturers move over to building electric cars it will lead to lay offs in the workforce since the electric cars won't require as much production manpower as ICE vehicles.

I just always find it interesting how bloggers make such glaring omissions in their posts, as if no one would notice the largest German automaker was left off the list of German car sales. Volkswagen almost sells more cars monthly than Tesla does annually.

I think the big news is that Tesla has the same cache as Merc , Audi and BMW with the added bragging rights of being "green" ...............its the new "thing" besides anyone can drive one of those brands ( low end ) with their incentives ! They over saturated the market and wounded their image ! BOOO frickin Hooo ! ( rehabilitated BMW Fan boy ! )

You can get a BMW or Mercedes for a reasonable price unless you want Android Auto/Apple CarPlay or heated seats.

with the HUGE support Governments give to E cars it helps mitigate the risk , take the support away .....................sales plummet ................
