Tasmania Police add Kia Stinger

Ouch... Too much car for the patrolman? Not visible enough? Zigged when he should have zagged?

Personally I dont think the stinger would make for a good patrol car. Not enough space inside for all the equipment unless they removed the front pass seat. Hard to tell from the pic.

Actually in the OP you can see the front pass headrest.
Police here agree with you. Police across the country have all had to say a sad farewell to their beloved Falcons & Commodores since Australia ceased production of them a few years ago.

The police truly loved them - and rightly so, they were tough, spacious, powerful and durable.

Check this out:

These days the different state police forces across the country are all trying a mix of various alternatives, mostly BMW 530Ds, Passats & Skodas, Chrysler 300s, Stingers, and a lot of other variety according to this link:

Re dash cam footage, don't all police cars these days have some sort of dash cams installed?

Re dash cam footage, don't all police cars these days have some sort of dash cams installed?
Most likely, but I would imagine it would also be helpful to have multiple angles, especially since it appears the car was hit in the right rear end.

How come no-one has posted "part out" in this topic yet?

All police cars have dash cams, it’s common here in AU that the authorities also reach out to the community to seek additional footage from vehicle dash cams & even home/business CCTV if an accident was in a suburban street.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
On the subject of speed limits, there is a road that has a steep hill heading into town. In most cars, you have to ride your brakes the entire time to avoid going 40 or more in the 30 mph zone.

Saw a female cop out in the open in the patrol car one afternoon, not hiding to have a "gotcha". Stopped and spoke to her, she agreed that the 30 mph limit was in her words "stupid". There are no homes, business or say day cares fronting the road.

Called the individual in the city administration that deals with that, he refused to do anything about it, thought it was completely appropriate.

At the next stop sign, a right turn puts you in a residential area. Same 30 mph but in this case, I think it's reasonable. Don

I was in the middle of nowhere few weeks ago at night. One of those pitch black country roads. I'm putting along at ~60 mph. I come up a small town. Maybe half a mile long if that. I must of missed the speed zone ahead sign. Next thing I know I see a speed limit sign of 30 mph... Talk about one of those oh sh!t moments. This was about 11pm. My guess is it was past what ever law enforcement they have hours. Doubt I could talk my way out of that one if I got pulled over...

About the only excuse I have is I don't drive in the dark often, and even less so out on pitch black country roads. In the year of owning the car I bet those headlight been on less than 10 hours total. It's one of those things, atrophy of paying attention to things one notices easily during the day time when driving at night.

On the way back, hauling @ss on a few curves, come up to a bambi on the side of the road. A true oh sh!t moment.
