I had decided to get the GT1 over the GT2 because I disliked the electronic shifter on the GT2. At first I decided that I didn't need the surround view camera but now would like to have it. Is it possible to buy the cameras, buttons, and wiring harnesses and it would just work? Has anybody done this? I see that there was a couple of posts about this but I think they were for the 2018 model which didn't have the option to have a surround view camera but I have a 2019 which does. I have found a web site that I could buy OEM parts and from what I was able to peace together it would be about $3000 in parts and would like to make sure it will work before I invest any money into it.

Another option is If I bought after market cameras is there a way to trick the display into showing the image from the cameras as it the factory surround view camera system. Like just buying the center consulate buttons and hard wiring the cameras into the inputs to the infotainment system. But without knowing how the cameras are wired I wouldn't know if this would even work. This would be far cheaper.

I know there are systems that will display an image on a smartphone or tablet; I've not heard of one that can be wired into the OEM display. They are doing cool things with rear view mirror cameras now and may have an aftermarket surround view version available.

I have the surround view and use it all the time the Stinger is not an easy car to park without it in many situations. Even with it I've managed to slightly curb one of my wheels.

It's possible.
I've seen people doing it in Korea, but they have rigid businesses that does this kind of upgrades using OEM parts.
But, this won't be done by simply plugging hardware to your car, Cameras needs to be calibrated.
Try google translate on this website, this is basically an advertisement from one of the shops that does this kind of upgrades, but it will give you a good idea on what kind of tasks are involved.

I was also thinking about getting GT1 and upgrade it to have surround view monitor, but I eventually gave up and got GT2 as it was too much of headache.

Well looks like it's "plug and play" so to say except for having the room to do the calibration, which I don't think is absolutely necessary to have the spots on the floor but it may be. But definitely wouldn't be a cheap after dealer add-on having to buy all the components new OEM. Sure it could be cheaper if you are lucky to find a wrecked stinger with surround view, which I may try later down the road, when there is more "supply" of wrecks.

I've been researching this for some time and while it is a "plug and play" job the parts needed and labor are quite intensive as the rear camera needs to be changed, a new wire needs to be added to the existing harness on each camera mounting location and needs to be ran to the front and connect to the SVM box.

The calibration is necessary as the system needs to determine space the car takes in order to accurately display the lines.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Oh, I can relate! Even well after a year, parking, or even negotiating anywhere near curbs, is still my greatest trepidation in this car. Having curbed my front rims over half a dozen times in c. eight months, parking became my top priority skill set! Heh! And so it remains. I never park without 101% attention and deliberation (spelled s-l-o-w-l-y). A surround camera would definitely help me out, my emotional state if nothing else.:P But I do not intend to ever dive into this add on. I'll just keep on being uber careful around curbs.

Be careful out there Merlin; curbs are hungry for Stinger rims
