• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I normally get the 3 year itch with cars I own. So sometimes look to see what it's value might be on the used market. Stinger prices remains up there, even for 3 and 4 year old models, and any model variant too. I'm not ready to sell yet, might never ... but was just something that surprised me. Could just be the times we are in too (i.e. sellers market). Thoughts ... ?

I'm afraid that it's mostly inflation.

Used cars across the board are up 37 percent due to COVID concerns with using public transport and the delay in delivery of new cars. Good time to off load second hand cars. I just sold one (not my Stinger) yesterday after advertising on face book for one night. First person bought it nearly 1000 dollars above red book value. Had many others interested too. Crazy times.

It is not just stinger. ALL cars are holding value right now. Or the currency is depreciating, to be correct.

It’s definitely a Seller’s used car market right now and at least for the next few months until semiconductor chips and general vehicle supply constraints ease. I’m keeping a close eye on the weekly graph over at Datium insights used car market index graph (can’t post link - google it). I’ll use this as a guide to sell my car when the trend reverses.

But I’m also waiting on the MY22 Stinger release before I buy my Stinger. So it’s a bit of a balancing act for me. Anyone with any insights as to MY22 timing?

We are only in April, why wait for another "MY" release... here in aus "MY" releases start around Oct, but you then risk getting caught up in waiting for "Built" in 2022 and so on and so on. I would not expect to be any major feature changes, unless you're holding out for the 2.5L 4cyl GT-line.

My though is just get in one as soon as you can, enjoy it and sellers market be damned!

Why wait? Like I said, I have no reason to sell my current car right now and from all the used car market data I might as well wait until prices start falling later in the year.

Presumably by then we’ll have a better understanding of what additions the MY22 will bring. At the very least I’m keen on the new KIA badge let alone some possible new exterior/interior colour choices. I note the MY22 in the US market has a few extras that I assume we will get on the GT. The year of manufacture/build/compliance date doesn’t bother me too much.

I dreamt last night that I sold my MY2018 for $65k :p
Had to check this morning if it was still in it's basement park.
