Good Surprise Surprise - Buy Offer on Vroom

I've always had a soft spot for the Q50 and Q60... heck I see a CPO 2018 Q60 locally where I am in Florida for $32k right now... very tempting... always adored the way the Q60 looked... I've never been a big infotainment kind of guy... I'm still getting used to daily driving a car with blind-spot detectors and backup sensors or a reverse camera... love the tech and makes owning such a big car much easier to park and drive for sure! :p

I am with you on not being a big infotainment guy, but having it and it being crap is SO MUCH WORSE to me than not having it at all.

Well if you dont drive it alot and want money back there yah go

On the Q50/60, it really depends on what you value.

I tried out a Q50 RS twice, 3-ish years ago, and while an interesting car, it left a LOT to be desired in the handling, steering (DAS is a flaming pile btw), and transmission. As a whole, it was pretty soulless. Sparkly, but with no character or real talent.

It was nice enough, but dynamics-wise didn’t really do anything notably well. To my taste, a Stinger GT upwards is superior in every part of the driving experience.

Hey guys, just an update here. I sold my '20 stinger gt w/ 4500 miles successfully to Auto Lenders GO for 36,500 (they picked it up this morning with check in hand). They offered over $1,000 over what Carvana offered. VROOM originally offered me $38,890, but I backed out as I said previously. I checked VROOM again this morning and their offer had dropped to $36,240. Very weird...

Just checked, Autolenders GO was $2000 less than Vroom ($33,400).

Every time I check the price goes up.
My 2020 GT1 RWD was 37k OTD.

Latest Carvana offer: 40,111

If I wasn't navigating this even crazier housing market I think I would be giving her up!

I'll tell you what though, anyone would be crazy to go with the lease turn in right now. Sell outright without question.

Congrats on selling the car. However, I still would find it hard to leave $2,300 on the table like that. So many people have sold their car to Vroom. It is a massive national company that has a ton of people satisfied with selling a car to them.

I wouldn’t necessarily buy a car from them but I sold my Stinger to them last month and it was the easiest process ever.

Glad that you are happy with what you got for the car. Even $36k is a lot for that Stinger. There are brand new Stinger GT cars listed for less than what you got right now. That is just mind boggling.

The prices vary wildly depending on location. I thought I got a lot($37,670) for my 2019 RWD GT2. After seeing these crazy offers for GT and GT1 cars my price doesn’t look so good.

I got offers for my car all the way from $32k to the $37670 offer from Vroom. Most offers were $36k or less.

Wow, never heard of Auto Lenders GO before. I put my 2021 GT in w/2500 miles and they're offering $38,000. Carvana doesn't have any info on the 21 models and Vroom was only offering $34,500. Tempting as I paid $37k for it about 8 months ago. What was the process like?

My neighbor sold his car to VROOM on March 21,2021. I remember them picking it up about a week later. He said he did not receive the payoff check until May 15,2021. No thank you!

The process was unbelievably easy and so, so efficient. They are so very fast. Just upload photos of registration, title, drivers license. Then print out a free next day air lable, mail title to them. The transport team calls you to schedule a pickup time and he gives you the check! 6 days for me from the time that I entered my vin on their website until pickup.

Huh, that is the first time I have heard of the check taking so long.

My check was Fedexed and in my hands about 36 hours after the car was picked up. I sold to Vroom about two years ago; sounds like the process has gotten more efficient.

My “transport team” was the guy who pulled up in the 18-wheeler. :)

Anyway, out of curiosity, I’m going to see what they’d give me for my 2018 this weekend.

The Fast Lane Car had issues with Vroom mishandling their check to purchase an I8.

A former coworker of mine however did a trade with Vroom and had zero issues. .

YMMV?
Buying and selling with Vroom are two entirely different processes. I wouldn’t buy a car from Vroom in all likelihood. I would definitely sell another one to them.

Got an offer last week on my 2019 GT AWD with 34,000 miles. $28,800. Offer expired. Got anther offer this week, same exact everything $24,800. No idea why their offer dropped $4000 in a week.

That's extremely low. Probably because of the miles. They'll probably make a 4 pounder off of it. If you don't know car sales lingo, it means $4k over what they gave you.
