Sunset Yellow Discussion

I saw a similar one on cars.com...hood wrapped black with black wrap on doors and fuel door. Also had the lowering kit along with the SEMA rims and "aero" kit.

honestly, when i lived in ny, i used my sunroof more than when i moved to florida. its like stupid hot here. it doesnt get this hot in the serengeti. that being said, i have been reading about panaramic sunroof's that are shattering. i think it is because the sunroof has become almost an integral part of the roof structure and can't take the stress of the body flexing. several of the cars that they were talking about were kia/hyundais. not necessarily the stinger, but still. i can deal with not having my hair catch fire from the sun beating down on it. not that i would have that problem since the mrs is always racing around with the car. if you see a yellow stinger gt racing in south florida with a pretty lady driving, tell her it's my turn to drive and to go home please.

I live in AZ so can appreciated the "Serengeti" heat for 6 months of the year. I am considering applying some 3M Crystalline tint to the sunroof for the exact reasons you have stated, both heat reduction and shatter containment.

The glass is already tint - physically - so the added tint would be a 90% transmission with thermal heat protection only as the intent. Secondly, the application of the tint "should" keep any shattered glass from flying about should the window actually break. I suppose this is only an issue if the shaded is back but still a potential issue nonetheless.

I #6. Actually, dealer told me I had #174 of the 400.

You know what matches the yellow paint pretty well? The Maryland state flag.

Also got my badges in the mail today but it's a little snowy here right now.

I am going to get the gadsden flag license plate, what do you think?

Hard decision between black or yellow. Wasn’t even considering yellow as an option until I saw it in person. Ceramic silver was my second alternative. Took me like a good hour to decide to take the plunge on yellow. Contacts at the dealer are pulling some favors for a yellow GT2 from a sister location. If not, going black GT2. Either way it’ll be tomorrow!

Guess I won’t be part of the yellow crew. Other dealer wasn’t willing to concede us their yellow GT2. Black it is!

when i was considering a new car for the mrs, she wouldn't even sit in any of the stingers, and they had the red, the micro blue and that cement/granite looking one. i was leaning towards the blue. mrs wasn't having any of it, until we went to the dealer so we could negotiate on a kia soul ! in that wild orange color and saw the yellow stinger gt in the showroom. then all bets were off, she wanted the stinger. so yellow it was and is.

Yeah that's gotta be tough getting another dealership to give us a car they know they can sell at MSRP. Mine wouldn't budge on the price of the GT2 but I'm loving the base GT just fine and can use the spare money. I'd take that handsome ceramic silver just because I told myself I'd never get a black car again, but either way you get that awesome red interior.

It was worth a shot though, a sister dealer to one where I have serious pulling power.

Missing out on the red interior was one thing bothering me on the yellow, even if that would never look good together. Black was my first choice, but after seeing yellow it person, I was just picturing how’d it look once done.

Little bit bummed out on the missed opportunity and one of the few yellow gt2’s, but I’m sure it’ll pass once I see my original black on black monster finalized. >=)

Bonus: I also wont get tired of the color 2-3 years from now.

Sorry to hear...just a thought...why not go to the other dealer for the yellow one??

And for the interior...agreed that black is not the best choice but is prob better over the red. I suppose not an issue since you only get one interior for each exterior. My pref would be a dark charcoal or cream two tone for the yellow

cream? don't you think that would be too light of a color for the yellow? i can see that on the micro blue or the red, classic color combos. just a thought.

Because at the dealer I’m at, I’m getting out of my previous lease a year early without paying a dollar, plus additional incentives on the GT2 and the fact I’ve been driving their loaner Optima for 3 weeks while the car arrived, so as to not put additional miles on my trade-in.

So, they’ve been great with me. Wouldn’t make much sense to go somewhere else and pay MSRP and end up under on my leased trade.

Dark cream, a Yellow Lexus RCF i looked at had it, very similar Yellow Ext and it was amazing. Has to be the two tone, like the standard red is on the other stingers. I was surprised how well it looked to be honest.
