• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Anyone taking thier Stingers to Summernats?

Just in case somebody isn't familiar with what this is...

Summernats is an annual car festival held in Canberra, Australia since 1987. Summernats, which is usually held at the start of the year, is the best known car festival in Australia, and an event which attracts many tourists to Canberra, bringing in excess of $20 million in economic benefit to the ACT economy. It has increasingly been promoted as an event for families. The Summernats spectator attendance record was set in 2017 with 119,184 attendees.

Bumping this thread from a year ago, is any intending to go to Summernats 2019 with their Stinger?

Well, never been to the Summernats, but since @Stinger GT SS bumped up this thread, thought i would look up the website, as i do not know exactly where it is held, i also did a search for distance from where i live near Melbourne Airport to Exhibition Park, Canberra, approximately 642.8 kms taking 6hrs 13min driving north on the M31 Hume Freeway - Hume Highway after Albury(NSW) - well kind of a u-turn southward on Barton Highway....haha, what an awesome drive it would be, unfortunately not going, but if a STINGERNATS formed , sounds like a great idea...:):rofl::rofl:

It's an easy drive and 110km nearly all the way. You can do it in a lot less time if you dare. Accommodation in Canberra can be expensive.

I maybe wrong but from the television coverage ive seen its full of Bogans , is that a fair assumption?

Bogans at a car show? Heaven forbid. Just because they’re wearing flannelette shirts and Ugg boots in summer I think you’re jumping to conclusions :)

..................errrrr , excuse me , but whats a Bogan ??

Bogan - Wikipedia

That’s the long version. The short version is that it’s a term used to describe anyone who is even more rough around the edges than you are yourself:laugh:.
speak for yourself ! ...................hahahahaha , So we would call them Knuckle draggers or Lugnuts

Yup, sounds like a reasonable equivalent. Boganism is all in the eye of the beholder.

Some features regularly associated with the bogan stereotype include residing in the outer suburbs of larger cities, having teeth that haven't had dental care due to cost, having an anti-authoritarian or jingoistic stance, as well as being interested in classic rock music, hoon driving and excessive alcohol consumption.[11]

Certain types of clothing are stereotypically associated with bogans, including flannelette shirts, hoodies, Stubbies shorts, King Geeworkwear, ugg boots,[12] jeans and black leggings.[13]

Vehicles such as the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon, particularly modified or poorly maintained examples, also have similar associations.

Personally I’ve been guilty of many of the above offences. It’s only when you combine a certain number of them simultaneously do you cross the threshold into Boganville. .

No, not really, not all people who like cars are bogans. The news only portrays what they what you to see, sure there is always a dickhead element in almost all walks of life.
I just bugs me that in this country people are quickly labelled bogans or rednecks because they like cars or they are patriotic...typical left wing, latte sipping set.

...phew that was close I drink cappuccinos. :D ...and don't vote.

Other notables:

If I eat I then s#it.
Go out in the sun I burn
Shower or bathe I get wet
Run I sweat and smell.
Work I get tired.

Geeze, the descriptions sound like every member of the Collingwood cheer squad.(AFL) They haven't got a decent set of teeth between them.

You have not mentioned how they express themselves too.Generally speaking, have that nasally ocker accent, throw the f bomb around like it's going out of fashion and say things like " that's rooly noice mate "

Not taking the car to Summernats but I'll probably cruise through braddon in the evening tomorrow or saturday night (assuming the hipsters haven't closed it down for that).

Had a lap of Lonsdale ST and there was tons of cool stuff about. Saw another white stinger doing laps too. Really wish they'd give us a new dragway since I had a HSV GTS and Mustang keen for a go.

They broke the world burnout record yesterday with 126 cars at the same time
