First of all I wanted to say hi to everybody as I'm new on this forum!

I read a bit of the forum for past 2 weeks but a lot of the answers are assuming much better than mine knowledge of the system. I have to apologize for some of very dumb questions but I'm in US just few years and I'm unsure about a lot of trivial for you aspects of buying car here.

I'd like to get advise/feedback on strategy to buy 2019 Stinger GT2 AWD in Virginia (although I would be willing to take a trip if worth it ;>).
1) I was researching prices in ~200miles range on Autotrader but I understand it is tricky as price varies $40-54k mostly probably because they include some discounts that I won't qualify and I won't know it until I will talk to them, right?
2) I'm very interested in negotiating with Casey Kia as they have awesome guarantee for life. They don't post prices online unfortunately so I won't know how high is the starting price until I start talking to them
3) I'm planning to pay in cash, don't want to pay interest for financing. I drive ~450 miles per week so I don't think leasing is an option for me.
4) I'm not in a big rush, I probably can wait until December, does it make so much difference because end of year -> taxes for dealership? Is January better as I can claim it is last year? :)
5) I don't care about exterior color, I want interior to be red so I will be less picky choosing car, but can complaign always to get some better price ;)

Thoughts, advices?

Get a lease with 9400 incentive and then buyout the car next month. You should be able to score at least 5k off of MSRP. I was able to get 4k off in December.

Hey,

I'm going about the same approach - but trading in my 2018. I'll keep you posted on how much im able to get off MSRP from different dealers.

First dealer I visited was a waste of time. Couldnt haggle over the phone and their prices were insane lol.

Best of luck - let me know what you're able to score. I got a killer deal on my 2018 last year in july.

Thanks guys for reply!

Raturaj, why does lease gives best discount? They don't protect themself fo buyout the car next month? I won't lose some $ on that? How much I can save in addition by waiting to December?

Jaymorz, Why you change 2018 to 2019? How much you lose on trading in year old car, people say you lose most value in 1st year...

A month ago I test drove Stinger in different dealership and guy there was offering $50k but I played it wrong, one could see I'm not ready to buy it. A week later I was test driving Camry XSE and I was able to shave $8k (from $41k) guy was sweating a bit but I could get it...

What was your killer deal and how did you approach it?

Because most don't buy it out. Kia has high money factor. They don't protect themselves. You would loose lease fee and may be some in taxes depending on how your state taxes a lease. I am not sure how much in lease incentive may be 1000-2000 but you can get better dealer discount that time.

Lease cash is greater than purchase incentives so far because Kia is competing against luxury car brands to sell Stingers. Luxury car drivers are much more likely to lease than other drivers. With no lease cash, some Stingers would be $900/month which would be hard to swallow for most consumers. That business decision is kind of screwing traditional purchasers (not as much now since there are some rebates available). Assuming in the first place that Kia can afford all that lease cash on a lease that is not bought out early, the early buyout doesn't really cost Kia/KMF that much. They simply get their money back, a month or two of interest, and pocket $950 (lease origination and buyout fees). That buyout money ends up recycled into someone else's new lease. Leases are already restrictive enough; there probably isn't much incentive for Kia to heavily penalize an early buyout. IMO it's kind of unfortunate that leases have become the norm these days and not primarily a tool suitable for business tax advantages. This was my first vehicle lease if only to take advantage of the lease cash.

Why not email multiple dealerships asking for their lowest price out the door, take the lowest one to another dealership and see if they will beat it.

Leased a 2019 white GT2 AWD from DARCARS Kia of Temple Hills on 30 May 2019. Kirk Newman was the salesman and all communication was done via email and text. Would recommend the dealership and the salesman. I told Kirk when I would be showing up to sign the paperwork. Arrived, left within one and a half hours. No up sell during finance. Deal was as follows:

54115 MSRP
50000 selling price (4115 discount)
9100 lease incentive (8600 KIA and 500 Military)
300 dealer fee
231 or so in title/registration Fees (Registered in Florida)
650 acquisition fee
MF 0.0002 (total "rent" over course of lease is 497.65)
36 month / 12,000 mile
432.55 monthly payment
469.32 monthly payment with tax (Hillsborough County Florida)
469.32 DAS (due at signing)

That is exactly what I did over the past month. I negotiated with several internet dealers both local and out of state and received their best otd (out the door) price that included any dealer fees, rebates/incentives, dealer discounts, etc. I ended up getting a good deal on my 2019 Stinger GT2 at a local dealer about 8K savings after rebates and dealer discounts. I made this deal at the end of the month which is one of the best times to buy and especially towards the end of the year when new models come out. It takes a little time doing this, but it's worth your time and can save you a lot of money. There is so much info on the internet which is helpful in negotiating and buying cars and providing info on manufacturer rebates and incentives. Good luck with your purchase!

Shouldn’t that money factor have been .002 and not .0002? It looks like they may have made a $120 a month mistake in your favor. Be careful that the financial institution doesn’t reject that lease. That payment is lower than it should be.

I see that this was not that recent so you are probably fine. They literally handed you $5,400 with their mistake on the interest. Congrats! That is a unicorn deal.

Hello neighbor, I'm in Odessa, Log into Facebook | Facebook

I will email multiple dealerships, the problem is that only the one mentioned above provides such a warranty:

Kia_Dealer_Virginia_Beach_New_Certified_Pre_Owned_Kia_near_me_Casey_Kia_of_Norfolk.webp

and it is important factor for me. My current AUDI A4 costed me fortune with engine issues and now the transmission is slipping, I don't want to go through that again.

Did anyone actually do the quick buyout from lease and can share the cost -> how much money was lost?

It is interesting also that I see quite a spread of final costs that people post from 42 to 50k for around 54k MSPR GT2 AWD and people always complement it as a good deal... so what really is a good deal?
Without special programs - no lease, no trade in etc I was able to negotiate $8k off Toyota Camry XSE and $6k off Lexus ES F Sport... they are both way more popular cars so I would expect dealers are less desperate to get rid of them. Or am I misunderstanding something?

PM me if you're still looking. I know of a white/black AWD GT2 being sold in NoVA for $43,000.

For a loan $44k out the door with zero percent interest is a good place to end up at right now. For a lease there is almost $10k in lease cash for a 2019 GT2 AWD and another $4k-$6k off MSRP but the money factor is really high.
