Just got a call from my local dealership in Shreveport, La. They are unloading 2 as I type. A red one and a blue one. I'm going to have to go look them over!

Great! If you go - let us know what you think! Take a few pictures... Maybe even get a test drive. :)

I hope to go back for a test drive Friday or Saturday, as they just backed them off the truck and still have plastic wrap on parts (inside and outside), fuses still need to be put in for some of the functions, like the HUD, etc.

But they did let me start it and it being in the big garage building; I'm not disappointed in the sound of the exhaust. Yes, maybe a little louder and a little throatier but it sounds tons better than the videos we first saw circulating. The seating was, let's just say if I ever go on a long trip, screw the hotel, I will just put the seat back... LOL

The colors... hrmmm. I will chalk this up to seeing them under flourescent lighting in the maintenance garage and not sunlight. The Chroma Red was a bit more brighter than I was expecting. I was expecting a more richer, metallic red. Whereas the Micro Blue, I liked better than I thought I would. It was darker (Not the Deep Chroma Blue, I'm sorry) than I thought it would be. I was imagining a more sky blue but this was a blue that is just after the sun rises or just before the sun starts to set.

The Navigation screen... we get the NEW SCREEN! Again, couldn't test all the functions as the Navi SD card wasn't inserted. The radio... while I agree with another post that it seemed someone lacking... not in the volume... sounded somewhat muted. Again, this model isn't my car so I wasn't able to play with the settings too much and like I said earlier, there was still plastic wrap on the inside of the car and over some of the speakers. I will have to change the settings to my likings when I get my car, that's for sure and maybe media USB will sound richer than over-the-air radio? /shrug I hardly listen to over-the-air anymore.

The engine bay. While I definitely think it looks better with a K&N setup, it looks clean and everything tucked away nicely. There were even some piping and various items prone to heat absorption that is covered in an insulation. With the engine sitting as far back as it is, there is actually some arm room to reach around things under the hood. That doesn't mean that I won't be busting a knuckle or peeling away flesh because I touched something hot, on occasion, but there is room. I didn't look to see where all the fluids go just yet.

These things that I did think of looking at but didn't work, I will chalk up to no fuses yet as the fuse panels were still missing. LOL. There was no ambient lighting even though there were settings for it in the dash screen. Sunroof not powered either. Powered retractable side mirrors weren't working. Powered hatch was! As many times as I've seen a powered back door, I love this because it doesn't open into your face! LOL

I won't go over the things it's missing because well, we all know what's missing. :(

As much as we dislike what is missing, there is more to love about this car than that. The buttons, while yes, most are plastic, I don't get the feeling that they are cheap. The feel more like soft plastic than the hard, brittle plastic. Make sense? They are a more soft, plush feel that your fingers can push down with slight preassure than the plastic that seems like you have to put all your weight behind them to click. The door kick plates are a hard plastic, I'm good with that; they are kick plates after all.

I didn't get any pictures because they weren't officially on display and they brought me in before they were even ready to go on display. Not to mention I still have an iPhone 5.... don't judge me, work pays for it! :) But this weekend when I go test drive, I will get some good DSLR pictures!

Thank you for the in-car review! Yes, the seats are very comfortable. That I know because I sat in a Stinger a few weeks ago. The sound of the exhaust being better than the initial videos is definitely a good thing. It needed a little more rumble and we heard that's what we'd be getting here in the U.S... Great! As for colors - yeah, I think you need to be away from that fluorescent lighting to get a better look. The new, improved navigation screen is definitely a nice bonus and should go a long way to making the interior look more upscale.

Let's get that plastic off the speakers for a better, clearer understanding of the sound system. And not only that - but break-in of the speakers - along with equalizer adjustments to make for a much better audio experience. I agree with your assessment of the buttons. They're not freaking ceramic but they don't feel cheap. Nothing to be desired there for me. As for the kick plates - being plastic doesn't bother me at all. Perhaps people can just buy cheap felt from their local crafts store and cover the plastic with that - which would probably be quite nice, actually...

The last iPhone I bought was an iPhone 5. It still works. Has the latest version of iOS - and it simply a great size. Great phone. Don't worry about it. :p

I should have NEVER taken a test drive. /sigh

I ended up driving off the lot with the only GT2 trim, Chroma Red with black interior, as a truck rolls up with about 5 more GT trims in different colors, none were GT2 trims, though. <whew> If I had not taken the test drive, I probably could have waited 3-4 months for the Ceramic Silver with red interior. (Pictures will come, I had too much fun putting 100 miles on it :))

I am not disappointed by any means! Oh, the little things that still catch me off guard like; the seat and steering wheel moving in and out of the saved position when you start/stop the car, low beams moving as you turn, the headlights running a self test when you start the car, auto high beams, and many others.

HUD will now be a necessity on any future vehicle purchases (I hope this will be last one :))

Do I miss the 360 camera? Nope, never had it to begin with. :) Would I have liked it? You bet, but I won't miss it.
Do I miss the wireless charger? Nope, never had it and my phone currently doesn't support it. Would it be convenient for future phones? Sure.
Do I miss the alpaca (or whatever it is :)) ceiling covering? Yeah, I think that I actually would miss, but it isn't a necessity.

This car will shit and git let me tell you! Granted, I have not test driven a Tesla vehicle, Lamborghini, or a Hennessy Venom GT, but to be honest with you, unless I am on a cordoned off stretch of highway, I would probably kill myself in a Hennessy.. LOL

There was another post somewhere about possible future software update saving the drive mode. That would be AWESOME! Personally, my favorite is SPORT. It's not too stiff and not too soft, though I wouldn't mind the suspension being just a little stiffer.

I love the way the gas pedal feels (yes, there's a very brief moment of turbo lag when you just stomp on it but if you ride the gears, it's barely noticeable) and there's something at the bottom of the foot press, kind of like a click and I swear I hear Jim Carrey saying, "Hold on to your lug nuts, it's tiiiiiime to get sucked back in your seat!"

I am extreme happy that I went ahead and pulled the trigger I have already gotten several "Woah, what kind of car is that?' and "Sweet looking ride. etc. Someone even mentioned it looked like a Tesla from a certain angle.

I drove off at 17,500 trade in (it needed new tires, rims), paid off $7,000 left on the current loan, so that put 10G down and I put down another 4G and I did get the GAP insurance and the extended warranty. Price was 52,500 with delivery, TTL, first born, left and right leg, and only half a nad.

I want to go drive it more but it's getting late and it won't be long before I do a face plant on the keyboard. Later everyone!

EDIT: /sings "I was dreamin' when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray" ... wow, were there a lot of typos. I guess I was overly excited. :) Corrected a lot of mistakes. hehe

Wow! You went a did it! You got yourself a Stinger! Damn, lucky you... I expect to see a nice folder full a pictures in the gallery! :p I'm in a similar situation where I won't miss any of the things not offered because I don't have a surround view camera or wireless charging as it is. So the car is darn near perfect... Watch out, @Johnnyfive! You just may go home with one...

Yeah, to be honest, I was fully ready to wait another 4 months for my colors but after testing driving, I just couldn't wait that long.

Congrats on the new car! I guess I know better than to do any test driving until the 2019 model comes out, ha.

Huge congrats. One dealer told me the GT2s were only coming in red and white this year so you might have had to wait a lot longer than 4 months.

Wow nice! You make me worry about my test drive coming up.

It is possible to summon enough willpower to resist buying one immediately. If you really want to resist. And it helps if they don't have the trim level you want.

Did you get to purchase your Kia Stinger yet in the color you was looking for?

No, I opted for the standard Chroma Red, right off the truck. :)
The bug bite was itching too bad and if I waited too much longer, I wouldn't have gotten as much for my trade it. I have no regrets. I have grown to love it.

Hey! That had better not be MY car. Still waiting on it up here in Arkansas. Check your serial number ...

LOL! Had it since it became available, Dec 14th. One of the few good things about Shreveport, the old GM plant is a MAJOR Kia depot. Maybe you ought to come down to Bossier/Shreveport for yours :) There are several now on the lots. I think a black and a red GT2 and the a mix of red, white and black GT and GT1.

If anyone is still looking for a stinger in Louisiana I'd highly recommend Sterling kia.
