hello all, I’ve lurked long enough and finally decided to join the forum. I purchased my ceramic/red GT2 AWD on May 4th in Lafayette, LA. I traded my 15 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Ultimate which was rock solid for the last 3 years I’ve owned it. I’ve been following the Stinger for a while and knew i was going to buy one eventually... just a matter of when. So far the Stinger has been a joy to drive with its stylish design, solid build quality and engergetic engine. I look forward to learning more about the car and meeting other owners on the forums.

Congrats on the new ride!

My roots are all over Lafayette. My entire family is there! Broussards and Siners. Small world indeed.

It is definitely a small world. Im actually in Baton Rouge for work for a few years so I’m not native to the area. I’ve been here less than a year but it enjoy it so far. Are you still in the area?

G’day & congrats on your new ride....enjoy.

Great int/ext color choice. Welcome to the forum !

I was actually born and raised in Baton Rouge. Graduated from Glen Oaks High. I joined the Marine Corps in 07 and have only been back to LA 3 or 4 times since then.

Girls love Stingers! That is becoming obvious. Keep it pretty!

I considered that Genesis myself - how do they compare?

Congrats, that is the colour combo I wanted but Kia decided not to sell in Canada.

The Genesis feels a bit more premium and isolated than the Stinger. For instance in the Stinger I am constantly trying to put the windows up because of the amount of wind noise versus the Genesis. Not that the Stinger is overly noisy or anything it’s just the Genesis was library quiet. Also the doors felt like vaults when closing them and all the windows soft closed going up/down. Very good attention to detail for sure. The Stinger is more my speed however... love the looks inside and out and definitely a more involving car to drive. The Koreans have won me over for sure lol.

I can't compare. But I really like the way the Stinger's doors close. And it is the quietest car I have ever driven in. (Mostly I've had 'clunkers' by comparison, so that is no comparison.)

The G70 sounds like a terrific car, alright! But it isn't the right size for my needs. And I really do like the look of the Stinger's wheelbase and long hood. Performance comparisons are meaningless to me, because I am not going to "duel" with this car.

I use its speed to unravel developing traffic situations, which includes PASSING. Now that I have the power, I get out of everybody's way when I see that if I slavishly follow my cruise control setting I will arrive alongside right at the time a driver ahead will want to pass the car that he's coming up on: I will burst forward and pass both, which allows the middle speed car to make his pass as well instead of waiting for me to get out of his way. Etc.
