Stinger vs G70

Same engine, smaller and lighter car = better performance. Colin Chapman made a good living and some great cars with that recipe. :)

There are much bigger differences between the G70 and the Stinger than weight, dimensions and options. If you're looking for a high horsepower, well appointed compact sedan, looks like Genesis has a great option for you! Good luck with whatever you decide!

The G70 is a nice ride and will be a better performer but not by much. I still prefer the Stinger though. I think it looks better and I love the rear hatch.

The G70 looks to be a great car. Being smaller and lighter is always a good thing for those wanting to go fast. However, I'll take my hatch and roomy interior over a couple tenths off from 0-60.

To those getting the G70, see you at the red light ;)

The only thing the G70 has going for it is that the cops won't be able to pick you out from any of the other generic looking four door sedan's from behind .

Yeah, that, plus wireless charging, heated rear seats, 360 cam, valet maintenance, plus just slightly faster. I do think the Stinger looks better, and like that it has more space. I'm annoyed with Kia and all these limited editions and stuff though. I've got an SUV now so I don't care about space anymore. I think the G70 is the winner in the US.

Different strokes for different folks. I will definitely agree with you about the limited additions and how they are Doling them out like crackerjacks Wondering what the next price is going to be that totally sucks . When we decided to buy the stinger after doing a whole lot of research I figured that at lease by next year's model it would have all the stuff that the G70 has except for maybe the heated backseats , as for the valet service after I drive it off the lot nobody drives it without me in it just the way I am . Sounds like you haven't pulled the trigger yet and have some time to wait for the G70 to come out hope it meets your expectations .
One other thing it looks like you've been on this forum for a while so if the G 70 has the same 18 verses 19 inch wheel speed limiter I feel you'll be getting the 19s

G70 should do a good job stealing some of Mercedes C43 and Audi S4/5 customer base.

As long as I have children with adult dimensions living with me I'll have to avoid compact cars.

I hope it does. I'm not gonna buy until around next summer so if somehow Kia comes to their senses by then and has a reasonable option out with everything I'm missing where I can pick the color I want and all that, then they still have a chance. I just don't see that happening.

I'm sure there are a few people from the big glass house that Kia lives in that are keeping an eye on these forums . I know that they read all the good and the bad on the corporate website , try reading some of the complaints on the corporate website that's an eye-opener . Money talks BS walks there just like any other corporation its all about the bottom line sooner or later they have to listen to the people if they want to stay in business.

The G70 certainly seems to have many advantages, but for me, the hatchback and much bigger storage area makes the stinger much more appealing. With wife and, hopefully baby, the stinger looks much easier to toss in a buggy, etc, and or all the stuff needed when traveling with a family! My bigger complaint is the stinger only seems to come in black leather, which is pretty terrible in Las Vegas summer heat. Might be a deal breaker, as the other car i'm considering is the volvo v60, which can be outfitted in lighter interior colors. Also, these are both excellent CPO 1 or 2 year old purchases, since prices seem to drop a ton on both models... So, I might push back another 18 months or so, and try to get a screaming deal.

I chose the stinger for the same reasons. I can fit 2 toddlers in the back seat comfortably and there is plenty of space for a full size stroller in the trunk with room to spare.
As for the interior choices, they are limited but you can get a light interior with the micro blue which I have. Never had a white interior before and so far it's been a nice change of pace.
You'll save a ton getting a CPO...however you won't be getting mine anytime soon ;p

Ive read G70 has multiple interior options to include look, stitch, pattern, color, and so forth. This would have been great on the Stinger.

Overall, I think Stinger has better looks and presence and will happily give up some performance for that. Missing the other options, well, ill just have to live without them as i really wanted the Yellow and sacrificing those qualities was the price.

I am hopeful for a 360 Cam plug and play retrofit...similar to the wireless charge retro. Suede/microfiber headliner is the biggest diff with regard to "luxury" feel.

Oh, on the "build your own" website, it is only showing black leather with the blue, at least for the smaller engine version... I live in Las vegas, and have to go to Phoenix for business July/August... I never want black leather in a car ever again!

The lighter leather is only available on GT2 Trim for the Micro Blue.

I live in Phx and have the black leather. It sucks. Good IR Tint, Window Shades, and and Shaded spot in parking are all ways to help out. The vented seats help a bit once the ambient air is cooled as well.

I was leaning towards the G70 until I went to the NYC auto show. They had two G70's. I adjusted the driver seat for me (5'10") and tried to get in the rear seat behind the driver. There's about an inch between the back of the front seat and rear seat to get your leg in. This was a deal breaker for me, leased a Stinger GT1 on Memorial Day.

i do hope that the v8 option becomes available in the stinger since the two cars are similar, chasis wise.

I didn't actually know the G70 was coming out or had the same engine. I would probably trade my CS @700miles w/ full xpel and tint for a equal G70 if I could without tanking 10gs honestly.

Understandable. I plan on letting no one ride in mine lol.
