Stinger v. BMW M340i

I would believe so, also may have realized they made it too good and needed to leave room for the M3/M4 to deliver some superior sound haha.
And it’s unfortunate how fast the car world is changing with European regulations and even Cali getting stricter.

Most turbo cars sound like shit and that one especially sounds like it had too much Taco Bell. That exhaust is so fake just like the M badges it wears.

How exactly is the sound that car makes fake?

Have a friend that is a service manager at a BMW dealership, he told me not to buy a BMW. He said basically what everybody else is saying about 5 years. He also said if you leasing, no problem cause it's not yours. They are nice cars but are not real appealing to me, I like sitting in something not on something. I like driving something a little more rare. No matter where I go I get compliments on the car and asked what is it. Whens the last time you wanted to tell a BMW owner how nice his car is? Only BMW I would compliment is the I8 Roadster! When I see a Stinger on the road 9 out of 10 times I get a wave or honk. It used to be like that riding motorcycle years back. To get a similar equipped BMW your out $8-10k....at least in Houston.

I didn’t even consider a BMW because the closest dealership is over 30 miles away from me. Raleigh is a fairly large city but the only BMW dealership is way up North of the city and we are south of it.

My Kia dealership is 3.1 miles from my house. I can easily run to it which makes it really convenient.

Leith? I bought my BMW from there. I also live south of the city but the drive isn't bad if using the interstates. When I still had it they'd come to me and pick up/drop off the car if I ever needed them to. They have great service.

I actually had a 2002 BMW 330i that I serviced with them many moons ago. With 540 it is better but it is still such a pain to go all the way up there and back twice in a day. I used to work in North Raleigh so I was up there anyway. Now I don’t dwork up there so it is just too far.

I run past the Kia dealership all the time. It is just so convenient. Ironically the Ford(wife’s behemoth) and the INFINITI(had a Q50 before) dealerships are even closer than the Kia dealership. The Ford dealership isn’t even 1 mile from my house.

i like bmws because it cost so much to fix. Make a lot of money fixing them. They leak oil and smoke after tail pipe for no reasonView attachment 53333

I agree, if you check the internet, BMW require more maintainance and repaires then most cars. I think only jeeps rank lower. Someone can correct me if i am wrong. Kia was like 2 or 3 or something like that on the list of most reliable cars.

I owned an F30 328i xDrive, and it was fine. As the 328 variant, it "only" had the 4-cylinder turbo engine, but it was still plenty quick. And BMW's xDrive is like the Stinger's AWD system - rear-wheel biased. I never had a problem with quality - no leaks; nothing broke. But it wasn't anything special. There are a lot of 3-series BMWs out there . . . a LOT. I never felt like I was in a special car. That, at least for me, is where the Stinger is different. I don't see a lot of Stingers out there. And when other people see a Stinger, they usually don't know what the hell it is. The Stinger is different and special and just as capable as a BMW 3- or 4-series without the BMW 3- or 4-series price.

I agree that the 3 series BMW is everywhere so you get tired seing them very quick. Where I live there is not so many 5 series and up so those stay special longer. I would say the 5 series are as rare as Stingers but they cost a lot more. I am more considering a used 540i vs Stinger since they share similar performance(in awd version they are almost even), space and long distance comfort. With the BMW you lose some corner capabilities, hatch practicality but you gain in quality and refinement.

Also, both BMW and Genesis use an AWD based on Magna Powertrain systems, so they are indeed similar!

I like driving something a little more rare. No matter where I go I get compliments on the car and asked what is it.

That's actually kinda one of the reasons I liked it as well; I mean who wants to drive a Toyota Camry!. based on Kia's sales 2017-2020, there were only 43,162 sold world wide?? What do you think, better of worse sales in 2021? At best 50-60k on the road? That's pretty rare, right? Only thing I'm concerned about is getting OE replacement parts 5-6 years down the line.
