• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Visited my Kia dealership a couple days ago , as also mentioned in the thread about Stinger CK Safety Recall, not only did i find out info on the towbar recall, but had a chat with the Sales Manager, he told me he has constantly driven a Stinger to home and back and for personal use, since the Stinger first made it to his dealership, but recently he was told he was not allowed to drive a Stinger anymore, the dealership had a Deep Chroma Blue StingerGT just like mine outside, i asked him how many have they had in my colour since i picked mine up at the start of March 18, he said there was a GT before mine, which i got to see back then in Nov 17, then mine, i did see a Rafa Edition in my colour and this one now, so only four from that dealership in my colour from when they first got delivered last year, and the Stinger sitting outside was the only Stinger they had, none in the holding yard at all ?

And they've dropped the price since we bought ours. They should be damn attractive. I wonder if it's all still " badge snobbery" ?

Could be about badge snobbery, i am sure there are plenty people out there who know about Stinger, and how great it is, but will not want to be seen in a Kia, or spend that kind of money on a Kia Stinger, and would prefer to spend more on an Audi, BMW or Mercedes, to also keep on par with others, by the way the Stinger sitting outside the dealership had a price on it, not sure the exact figure, but it was still about $66,500 with $1150 taken off, so about $65,350 , plus Driveaway.

I don’t really understand the whole badge snobbery thing here in Australia. I came from a Holden V8 and I’m sure plenty of other people in Stingers now are ex- Holden or Ford who have bought the Stinger because they could no longer get an affordable 4 door V8. I don’t see Holden or Ford as premium brands so there shouldn’t be a problem in moving from one of those to a Kia. Maybe I don’t know enough about cars but it never even remotely entered my head that I could possibly be embarrassed about driving a Kia when I was assessing this car. Personally I bought the car because the price was what I would have paid for a new V8 Commodore had one been available and the amount of tech packed into the car for the price blew me away.

Ex Holden Commodore SS owner here & your comments nailed the point of the Stinger to a tee, couldn’t have said it better, great summation.

I think it's a shame if we are " badge snobs " which is very apparent in America and Europe. I always thought Aussies take things at face value, if it's good value and reliable then badge isn't much of a concern. There are heaps of Kia's on the road these days, particularly Sorrentos, Sportages and Ceratos.

Agree. Although I was a bit concerned when I dropped my car off for a service this arvo. Dealer is KIA, Hyundai and Honda. Was only there for a few minutes but there were stacks, and I mean stacks, of Civics in the back lot, a couple of Ceratos and didn’t see any Stingers. I’ll have more time tomorrow when I pick mine up and I’ll have a more detailed look. Did see a couple of Stingers in the front lot as I was leaving but I’ll get some more accurate info tomorrow.

My hubby drives a cerato and I have an Optima platinum. We have had the cars from new for nearly 6 years and never had any issues with them. Our Holdens a few years back proved to be very unreliable lol.I love my Optima but want to trade it in for a GT stinger. My hubby drives in Melbourne and sees quite a few Stingers around but here in Geelong I haven't seen many, probably only three.I spotted a gorgeous red one in town the other day.

So you're getting a Stinger then? what colour did you have in mind?

My wife drives a Cerato Sport, now 1 year old, traded her 09 Koup, I traded my 13 Sportage Platinum for my GT. Get the Stinger GT & you won’t regret it I’ve had mine for 1 year now & love it, as @Ozstung asks what colour do you like?

I really like the micro blue but I also like red and white, oh decisions, decisions ! my Optima is silver, which I like also but want a change for my next car.

White with Red Interior is really nice @FitR6 has this combo & I’ve seen it in the flesh & it really looks classy, same with Ceramic Silver with Red Interior.

Hi, I am tossing between three colours, red, white and blue lol but leaning more towards micro blue. I really want the top spec model GT and want one with the sports exhaust.I haven't heard the sound of the bi-modal only on you tube so I'd like to hear it for myself. The Borla exhaust on you tube sounds good too.Someone on here said he got a borla exhaust fitted through his dealership,I am surprised because I thought we could only get the bi-modal system. He's from another state though.

cool! I don't think a blue one with red interior would look good some how, if I got blue I'd stick with the dark interior. My Optima is dark inside anyway.Did you find it difficult at first with the small rear window ? I sat in a couple at a dealership not long ago and the rear window looks a fair bit smaller than my optima.

I believe the Blue does not have red interior option, rear vision is fine, large side mirrors & 360 camera no problems, my Sportage had less rear vision so this was an improvement.

Go to your dealer they are sure to have a demo with bi-modal fitted, some AU members have been getting good driveway pricing on GT with bi-modal fitted.
I like the X-Force Varex Bi-Modal System, I have heard both on YouTube & in the flesh, very good sound but I worry about drone as most with aftermarket systems fitted are experincing this at one level or another.

oh, ok can't wait to take one for a test drive. We would go the the dealership we got the Optima from, they are the other side of Melbourne but they let us take our optima overnight when we tested it out.
