Since there are some Kia reps lurking in our midst, I figured I'd throw this out there... :)

When BMW introduced the last 3-series back in 2012 they had a traveling road show as part of their marketing push. You signed up for the event online and they allowed you to test drive the new model (along with some of the competition) on a predefined route in your area.

It was really nice because since you weren't driving dealer inventory, the mileage didn't matter, so you had an opportunity to take the car for a longer than you would normally. And the best part being you were allowed to take it out solo - no distracting "what it's gonna take to get you to buy today!!!" garbage from a sales guy.

Anyone else think Kia should be doing something like this?

I've been to one of those. It's a great event and allows people to experience the car without, like you said, sales pressure. Some people would never get to drive the car without shows like this - so they'd never know they actually wanted or needed the car otherwise. Definitely a good idea and I hope one of the Kia reps shares their thoughts...

I did an event like this when Volvo revamped the S60 almost 5 years ago I think. They had people from corporate their, did a walk through of the vehicle and let you take it out for drive. I have also did an event like this with Audi.

I think it will be a great move for Kia especially since they're not releasing the car until "late 2017".

I was lucky with Audi and BMW as there was zero pressure for me to take a car home. They also let me drive multiple models without any hesitation.

Yes I think this would be a great idea. Has Kia ever done such an event for any of their cars? I think Hyundai might have done it for the Genesis years ago.

It does look like they did something back in '08 called the Discover Genesis Tour. Looks like a parking lot "autocross" type course with a chatting sales rep:

But this is way different than what I had in mind... not sure I'd drive 8 hours round trip for that

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
