It is important to note that they are talking about “Sluggish sales” for KDM Stingers only. US Stinger sales have picked up nicely now.

All Stingers are made in the Sohari plant in Korea, so this is a global end, if true.

I did figure there was a very low probability of a second generation, but didn't think it would be ending by next year.

Well I won't be heartbroken until production has officially stopped and seeing how KIA just officially ended K900 production the stinger is most likely taking it's place as the company's flagship car but we'll see, stay tuned boys and girls!

I'd rather it still be in production, and even get a second generation if I'm going there. It doesn't need to be out of production to be special and rare... see the other car I own, the Mazda Miata. We're going to lose another car that isn't a crossover or SUV, and that's a not a good thing, as far as I'm concerned.

I feel like this was inevitable outcome. Even tho we need more sport sedans in the market. But the rise of electric and the love for crossovers and SUVs makes sense why KIA is doing this. But I want to know what is KIA flagship model going to be then? A whole new car or the Telluride?

Internal combustion engine, RWD sports sedan, the Stinger's days were always going to be numbered. At least they will be rarer now and resale values may stay high. A sad day indeed.

This was bound to happen, large powerful petrol powered RWD sedans are almost extinct so the business case for KIA to continue production of low volume vehicles just doesn’t stack up.
The way of the future for performance vehicles is SUV & EV, hence KIA releasing the EV6 later this year & with the EV6GT due for released 2022.

That was my thought. Too many typos to be instantly believable. But maybe.

Plus I Googled and no other info on the discontinuation.
