The pricing of cars in various markets around the globe is very difficult to compare. The fact is, that a specific car is differently priced in say Brazil, Austria, Spain Germany, US, GB, Denmark, Sweden, wherever. Generally, you can assume, that manufacturer charge as much as the market will bear.
Cars in Canada are priced differently from US. Honda builds cars in Ontario that find their way into US, so does Ford, GM, Toyota. Are the cars comparatively priced in the US and Canadian markets, if the exchange value C$ vs.US$ are taken into account? No, not at all. As it turns out, sometimes Canadians are better off, at other times Americans get the better deals, remember on the same cars!
I got a little worried when I saw the Austrian pricing courtesy of
@Esum , but cars in Europe were historically always priced higher than say in the US. To calm my nerves, and for comparison purposes, I went to the
www.Genesis.ca website and built a
G80 Sport, starting at MSRP C$62,000 plus some accessories topping out just below C$63K.
Genesis “forgot?” Ontario’s 13% GST (Good & Services Tax) in their summary, which you can turn on/off at other manufacturers websites. Anyway, this makes it a C$71K car, but probably still less than a Stinger in Austria.
I would expect the Stinger to be at least $10K lower – all in. If not, I am out.
Wait and see. The dealer I am in contact with told me, that more information will be available by November.
