Stinger Pricelist Austria Europe

The $57k was with all options but a little older. I see an article for the 2016 model that maxes at $60,420. It also shows the 0-60 time as 4.9 so speed-wise it's comparable, although I'd hope with the extra power the Stinger might do the 1/4 mile a little quicker.

The pricing of cars in various markets around the globe is very difficult to compare. The fact is, that a specific car is differently priced in say Brazil, Austria, Spain Germany, US, GB, Denmark, Sweden, wherever. Generally, you can assume, that manufacturer charge as much as the market will bear.

Cars in Canada are priced differently from US. Honda builds cars in Ontario that find their way into US, so does Ford, GM, Toyota. Are the cars comparatively priced in the US and Canadian markets, if the exchange value C$ vs.US$ are taken into account? No, not at all. As it turns out, sometimes Canadians are better off, at other times Americans get the better deals, remember on the same cars!

I got a little worried when I saw the Austrian pricing courtesy of @Esum , but cars in Europe were historically always priced higher than say in the US. To calm my nerves, and for comparison purposes, I went to the www.Genesis.ca website and built a G80 Sport, starting at MSRP C$62,000 plus some accessories topping out just below C$63K.

Genesis “forgot?” Ontario’s 13% GST (Good & Services Tax) in their summary, which you can turn on/off at other manufacturers websites. Anyway, this makes it a C$71K car, but probably still less than a Stinger in Austria.

I would expect the Stinger to be at least $10K lower – all in. If not, I am out.

Wait and see. The dealer I am in contact with told me, that more information will be available by November.

In the USA the 340i with M Sport package is like $57k, so if the Stinger GT tops out just a hair over $51k, I don't know why they wouldn't keep it relative. Although I'd just use the 340i w/ M Sport as a reference in terms of price. It's not very comparable as a car since it has less power, no liftback and one site is telling me that on that trim the rear seats don't even fold? Can that be right?

Don't let the power ratings fool ya (320 vs. 365). The BMW 340i Xdrive will be much faster than the Stinger GT and get significantly better fuel economy. The 440i GC will get you a liftback as well.

340i xDrive
  • 0-60: 4.1 sec
  • 1/4 mile: 12.7 @ 108.3 mph
  • MPG: 21/31/25
So to go slower, get worse fuel economy and have a "Kia badge" (even with all the additional amenities) I think the price difference needs to be 5 figures, not 4, when compared to a BMW 340i with just the M Sport package.

The 2018 440i xDrive tops out at ~$65,000 in the US. I would hope to see the Stinger GT AWD approach an ~$20,000 lower price point vs. the loaded 440i xdrive.

Hi.

In Switzerland they sell just the GT.
With every Option.
You can just choose the exterior and interior color...
58850,- Swiss Franc inc. Taxes
In Euro: 51397,-

The Austrians have to pay NOVA.
A CO2-tax.
big engine=big tax=expensive Car

Whoa where are you seeing 4.1 second 0-60 for the 440i GC? I've been seeing 4.8

Edit: Funny that Europe considered 3.0L a "big engine" Now I feel ridiculous with a 5.7L V8.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Big Engine for KIA in Europe...
The Biggest Engine in Europe ever was the Opirus FL with 3.8 L V6 and 266 HP.
Die next was the Optima GT 2.0 T-gdi with 245 HP...
When you know there is also a 5.0 V8 available in Asia, Dubai or wherever you are very pleased to get at least the 3.3 V6...

Gruezi and welcome to the forum @TomTom26 .
The Hyundai 5.0 V8 is available in North America in the Genesis cars. But if I were screwing around the alps, I'd go with a blown 3.3 rather than a NA (naturally aspirated) V8. Much more satisfying, particularly in higher elevations. No need to envy the sand beetles.:)

Congrats - That should do it...Gotthard anyone? Should beat most V8!

Beat every "normal" car...
But better on side roads.
Less Traffic, less Police with radar... :D
My Stinger is just for slide on long trips.
650km non Stop...
Sometimes a bit faster... ;)

@davebo Europeans always had large displacement engines available, before and after WWII.
Smaller engines became en vogue when the governments started to base vehicle/road taxes on displacement. That's also the reason why engine displacement ends up with these odd numbers, just to stay under the next higher tier of taxation.

@TomTom26 Just be careful out there, you never know what's around the next curve. I personally don't like to drive close to bikers because in a car, or in my truck, I will always have the advantage.
I hear Swiss Police is pretty tough these days, tougher than when I made my drivers licence in Zurich back in 1965...
Suggest you get yourself a radar detector. Look into an Escort RedLine. The "international" version will also look out for photo radar. Not the newest, but "guaranteed" not detectable. Use it on the bike with earphone. It does not make you go faster, but the stress level is much reduced. I have one now and I am working on never getting a ticket again. Better late than never :) Check it out.

@moinmoin is it also true these days that manufacturers like Porsche stick those next to useless rear seats in the 911 just because insurance in Europe is way higher for a 2-seater than a 4-seater?

@davebo LOL...are you joking?! I have not heard this before, but wouldn't be surprised either. On the other hand, you have to put babies and grocery bags somewhere. :) Once the babies reach a certain size, your get rid of you 2+2, not by choice but out of necessity, and buy van.

But seriously, that space behind the 2 front seats probably became a design element, when convertible roofs hat to be put somewhere. And when the roof was up, voilà, you had a 2 +2.

Do you have a release date yet. Interested to see how much time between release of price to date on the market.
