I don't trust any of the pictures currently being circulate, even by Kia, because they all state pre-production model in the fine print. Same with pricing, steering wheels, colors, other options; it's all still subject to change.
I absolutely agree. The pictures are not to be trusted, neither are the lists of features nor their descriptions, wherever and how they are published. I tried to line up the " KIA Spreadsheet" ($12961_2018_Stinger_Features_Options.xlsx) with the
Austrian price list and
Australian brochure and found a fair number or outliers.
There are features included without qualification, i.e. "Temporary Spare Tire" should exclude "Underfloor Rear Cargo Storage"!
Or how about:
ecoDynamics ............................(Start-Stop-System, ISG = Idle Stop & Go)
CBC..........................................(Cornering Brake Control)
ISLW.........................................(Intelligent Speed Limit Warning - reads speed-limit sign and displays them)
HaloSonic-iESS-Technology...........(Active Sound Design - I suspect this to be the piped-in engine sound)
LBA-D.......................................(Low Beam Assist - Dynamic)
AVM..........................................(Around View Monitor)
DRL..........................................(
Daytime Running Lights)
AHLS........................................(Active Hood Lift System - lifts the hood at the windshield in making contact with pedestrian. The
Regal
has it too.
ESS...........................................(Emergency Stop Signal - fast blinking when decelerating fast & suddenly)
AMS..........................................(Alternator Management System)
There are more, but it is getting tedious to mark all the differences. Maybe whoever is making the lists or prepares them for publication leaves out features because they are considered not worth to be mentioned, like seatbelt warning systems or DRLs. Or it's left out for space reason when printing, who knows. But all the above is from KIA's stuff. Some you find on Wiki and has been Hyundai technology for years. KIA is dropping the ball when they don't centralise the publication of pictures and data in one office and control what's out there.
Do the Europeans sell cars like that? I don't know, because I never bought a European car, but I wouldn't think so.
