First we had fires & now we have flooding which the torrential rain has thankfully assisted with bringing all the fires under control, I spotted this shot in a news article about flooding in QLD.

That's all the green a torrential rain gets you down there? That pic looks pretty dry still to me. (Something about the Stinger as a cop car still rubs me the wrong way.)

Well, as I stated re: the fires we have been experiencing since Sept. 19 & now with the torrential rain which happens to create flooding, your focus seems to be questioning the dryness of a country you have obviously never visited.
My post was just a lead in from a news story about FLOODING in QLD & the Stinger was in the shot, hence the thread used Stingers in the News.

Aus, the land of extremes. That's why using what happens to you guys as evidence of "climate change" is problematic. :P

The areas of drought where the land is so parched and dry causes flooding due to the torrential rain sits on the surface and doesn't penetrate into the earth quickly due to it being so dry.
I to think people call out " climate change " but it's BS, these weather patterns have been going for Millennia, Australia's traditional owners knew how to care for the land, the current politicians and greenies know shit all.

Australia's traditional owners knew how to care for the land
Doubt the "care for the land" part. The original denizens of Aus knew how to survive. There were no issues vis-à-vis conservation; that's a purely modern concern. Same holds true with Native Americans; you don't drive a separated clutch of buffalo off a cliff (before the adoption of the horse) and leave the carcasses to decay after taking only the piece/parts you want, if you are a "conservationist". When human population was puny, our impact was likewise puny, and the thought of waste never entered into the battle for survival. (I'm feeling pedantic this morning.)

You're taking the bait M8, as they say across the ponds.

The traditional/ indigenous people did " look after the land " they knew how to do " burn offs " so that the bush was kept contained, they did it in such away that the animals had time to flee. They also built them own dams for water conservation. They knew where to get water unlike the white fellas. They knew how to hunt without wiping out the population.
Yes, some first people did drive animals over cliffs, no that's not good conservation but neither was the white fella's nearly wiping out the Buffalo with their guns for their skins and tongues. And even now people are resisting the reintroduction of Wolves in areas in the US.Though they are protected they are still getting shot by poachers and ranchers, Wolves were there before people. Here in Oz so many animals have been made extinct due to introducing pest species, the English in their infinite wisdom wanted to " par take " in their traditions of hunting, so in came the Rabbits and foxes, they decimated the local fauna and land.
Even some animals waste kills, Orca's are well known to kill the calves of other Whales and only eating the tongues and livers, the rest of the body is left to rot in the ocean but of course will be nibbled at by Sharks and the like.
I'm learning a fair bit about the history of this country and it's native people, my hubby is of indigenous heritage, his ancestors have been here over 60 thousand years so I think he knows what he's talking about in regards to the ways of the traditional people.;)

Gee, I only posted a picture of a Stinger from a news article about road closures due to flooding.
Lucky I didn’t post a picture of the unmarked Stinger that I spotted on the show Ambulance last night, only god or Merlin knows where that could have ended up.

Sorry Stinger GT SS but Merlin took this path and I will add this.....The Koorie people did not " Just survive " they are not cave people that grunt and have shit for brains ok ?? ........they have various languages and their own rituals, art, music, dances etc they are generally nomadic but they are smart with the ways of the land.

Pedants often get into trouble like this. :p I stand by everything I said, but it's not contradicting what Flame added. There is no black and white to real history, as it isn't all one way or the highway. We mostly don't know and can only interpret evidence. Traditional "history" is nothing more than society's paradigm, which has been passed on for as long as that society has lasted.

Tribal societies hand down their customs and rituals from generation to generation so isn't that " evidence " how they do things ?

Couldn’t agree more mate, other than your original post nothing else in the verbal diarrhea of this thread has anything to do with the stinger or anything else car related. Yet again a thread gets derailed and goes way off topic due to the ramblings of someone with no idea what they’re talking about. That pic you posted was a good catch, at least someone is trying to keep the Stinger Forum related to the bloody Stinger.

Surely. But conflict creates a need for justification. And then the past gets refashioned by the needs of the present. It's simple human self-interest. (I don't think that we can talk anymore about this on our car enthusiasts forum. :P)

Agreed, except the part about "no idea what they're talking about". Sorry, again. I'll try harder to not let my fingers walk all over the keyboard when I'm tired and/or bored.

I do apologise that the thread got derailed, I got a bit triggered......I'll shut up now :lipsaresealed:
