Why would they? It proves what Kia can do. The Telluride points to the Stinger when people are shopping the SUV; they look the Stinger over and come away impressed. Kia doesn't need to advertise the Stinger; and it's appearance prepared the way for buyers to believe the hype about the Telluride (which is selling really well). I don't see Kia dropping the Stinger anytime soon. It's just too practical and balanced.

What effect will the Stinger have on the Optima? From the teaser pics it looks like the Optima regen will be even more stylish than the present Stinger. But what about wheelbase? Ride height? No hatch? I think the Stinger will continue. The new Optima will just look really good. I bet that Kia does an AWD option, with RWD bias like the Stinger. And an engine upgrade too: probably both cars would have the 3.5L by then in the higher performing trims.
