There were two sets of 3M tape in mine. One set shaped like what is seen in the pictures and one set that is rectangular with less thickness. Is there a reason two sets were included? I like the fit with the thinner set, but am concerned it might put the sharp back edge of the plate too close to the body and damage the car's paint.

The straight ones go towards the hole in the plate, the wedge shaped ones go towards the edges.

I got my black chrome ones from Sal. Maybe he’s just out of stock.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he's suggesting that he wishes the current "Black Chrome" was more Chromish or bling blingish.

On some photos , it does appear the black looks Matte or Satin.
