Stinger Bi-Modal Exhaust Coming to Canada

Oh, what colour Stinger do you have?

White...and orange from rusted brake dust on the paint :S

Hoping a ceramic coating in the spring will help with that. I don't want to have to decontaminate every few weeks lol.

Checking out one tonight... already fitted... wouldn't pay the 3000 k but sounds sweet as part of the package

Started a thread above before I saw this ... sorry

I would love this if it was cheaper, and well... if American dealers got them.

Wonder how they sound with secondary cat deletes.

Orange dust is usually rust caused by a steel-on-steel abrasion due to a worn-off brake pad

Certain brake pad compounds tend to give off an orange dust--I believe more the metallic compound brake pads. I used to have a silver 2007 Corvette Z06 that I tracked regularly. There was one company (can't remember the name offhand) that made an aftermarket pad for the car that was popular and gave off an orange dust that got on the surrounding paint. When it got wet, the dust would permanently discolor and corrode the paint. People with that particular pad had to wash their car almost on a daily basis. Not saying that will happen to your car, but I would perhaps recommend vigilance.

So how exactly does this work? The loud mode automatically turns on with throttle or drive mode? Downside is that exhaust fumes will only exit from the 2 middle tips in quiet-mode.

Bypass opens up when in sport mode, so if thats your regular driving mode you might have to go into comfort or eco when on the highway or I imagine you'll get drone

If it's the same configuration as AUS there's no way it can be fitted in under an hour. Wires need to be run from valve actuators and dash needs to be removed for electrical connections. More like 4-5 hours.
Is it made locally or imported?
Cost is equivalent to AUS.

Plug ‘n Play fitment – Both wiring harness and exhaust system
o Less than one hour to install

That's all the info they have regarding it for now, so I can't comment on how/where/why they got that number (they don't even have a picture of system available)

Hmmm does this plug into the OBD port?

I don't care for that. I'd prefer that it's tied to the sound enhancement feature, that way you could still activate it using the custom mode, or even a toggle switch. I hate using sport mode unless I plan to drive like a maniac and sometimes I'd just want noise while cruising in traffic.

I'd recommend electric cut-outs, ultimately cheaper, and will give you pretty much exactly what you want

This right here... Its like 200 buck and you get a key fob or rocker switch. One of the better options out there is a little more but it will last forever: Granatelli

KIA Canada's released a booking program for the Bi-Modal Exhaust system, System fits both 2 Cylinder and V6 Models with speculated install time being under an hour
Part number: J5H91AP000
MSRP: $2,689.96
Expected to arrive around September 9th

I'd post the bulletin itself but it's watermarked with all of my KIA info and large disclaimers about how I'm not supposed to post it, But I thought you guys might be interested, then see the price and become disinterested
Any idea if this is coming to the US?

Do you have experience with that setup?

Yes. It is solid. Keep in mind if you put this just prior to the muffler you are just going to get the sound of a muffler delete and little to no performance gains. If you put it say ahead of your secondary cats you will get performance plus really really bad cabin noise unless you run secondary pipes out somewhere else.

Post it! We won't tell!! LOL

I changed my mind. I am just going to get 2 of these: Cuthroat Cutout. 2 just past the last O2 sensor on the downpipes that are typically blocked off except for track day. Add the Tork Muffler delete and I am done.

Yeah. I have the SSR secondary cat deletes so I am thinking it will be way too loud for me open.

Any update on this? I searched the post number in Google, but I found nothing about this in Canada

Too bad. I want my car to be as close to stock as I can get it, and I would've really considered these, despite its price
There's a few exhaust options out there right now, I was going to get the MBRP for mine. I have that mod on hold now since lay-offs are happening, I did do a resonator delete on mine and still enjoying the sound from that.
