Stinger at Shift Sector 1/2 mile race

We took our Stinger out to the 1/2 mile race for a little fun and R&D. Needless to say, it was the only Kia participating in the event. And the announcer made funny Kia comments every time it went down the track lol. But the car ran well!

Mods are a JB4, BMS prototype intake, BMS protoype WMI kit, E30 fuel, Denso 5346 plugs.

The car ran really consistent 139mph traps despite the hot weather. And we were able to capture a lot of good data some of which I'll share later.

WMI is water/meth injection. We were running simple boost juice which is a 50/50 premix. Here are two logs on map8 from the race. You can adjust the map8 boost target under full meth flow by adjusting the "meth additive". We had it set to 70 for these runs. It can go up to 100.

It's a hot day but note how intake temps are dropping from ~145 degrees down to ~95 degrees at 140mph, close to ambient!

5 gallons E85 rest 91. The traps were really impressive for the track, surprised a lot of cars and earned a little respect for the Stingers.

It's a RWD peg-leg, limited boost in lower gears. Launched fine. I can only imagine what this kind of power in a AWD car launching hard would run.

The Model 3 is not a blazing fast car, I think 0-60 is 4.7 seconds or something.

electric cars have a pretty bad top end. The p100D ran a 10.4 but only at around 124 mph. It's almost shocking how slow that trap speed is.

They don't. We recorded a few runs via dragy, but nothing impressive due to weather and poor traction off the line. Runs all in the mid 12s. Slower than the 1/4 mile runs we normally record with it. Best on this car was 12.3@117 pre-meth.

this was at an airstrip correct? so no track prep.
