Stinger Aluminum Handle Inside Door Catch Plate

I read of owners putting these in last year; nothing since then. Iirc, there was some issue with the 3M tape not holding them in place securely enough. At least I recall them lifting along one of the edges.

ok - thanks! I'm a newbie and will look for last years string...

Good luck with that quest. The Find function isn't exactly user friendly. :P

I used the aluminum plates and have had no issues yet. I followed the install directions I think that came from this forum and it was quite easy. I like the way the carbon looks too, just don't have any in the rest of my car.
It looks like you bent the plates to match? Is that correct? How did you do that?

They came that way. As was posted earlier, there is a thread with good info somewhere on the site. It's a very small change but I really enjoy seeing it every time I open the door.

Yours look great!! I believe I will like the look as well, but my plates came flat and I did not see any option to purchase another way?

Sorry misread your post, the plates I have are flat. You can see in the picture. You just have to position them correctly.

I opted against any of the aluminum ones that used 3M since they were pricey and seemed to have sticking issues if you didn't use additional adhesive.

I opted to simply wrap mine in carbon fiber like vinyl wrap and love how they turned out, not to mention how little of this $10 roll it took.

Looks great! - Did you just cut the wrap to fit? what did you use as a template?

Since the existing plastic ones in the handle pop out easy, I just popped them out, then put a piece slightly larger than them on and used a heat gun to wrap the vinyl. With the wrap I linked, you mold it to the contour of what you're wrapping, and cut the excess when it's done.

Wrap it around the back a little bit and it looks just like you see!
