Hi gang!
So my question is, does anyone else feel like there is play in the steering? I know our car has electric steering instead of hydraulic, my bmw z4 is also electric, but it feels fine. My car seems to tram on the freeway like slightly pulling side to side like there is play. I took it to the dealer and they claim that it's normal. It does get tighter in sport mode though. Anyone else experiencing anything like this? Otherwise, tye car is amazing for its size

Not on my GT2. There is a tendency in my part of the country for the roads to be grooved "vertically" on concrete surfaces that can cause any car to feel less than "stable" at speed. No slack in my steering which stays in Comfort mode most of the time on the open divided highway.

Not me either. I thought from the moment of my test drive and since that the Stinger's steering is tight and transmits the road conditions wonderfully well.

Then there must be something wrong with mine. Because it will tend to pull side to side like there is the slightest bit of play.

That's annoying. "Pull side to side" is the polar opposite description of how my steering feels. I am hypersensitive to how steering feels anyway. Especially in a brand new car!

(edit: your description is more like my erstwhile Ford Club Wagon, which had a lot of play in the steering wheel; but NOT a tran turismo sport sedan!)

I know! So am I! And that is truly the only complaint I have. Everything else is amazing

It pulls side to side? Could be the lane keeping assist trying to keep you in your lane. You are a BMW driver, lol

It's possible, so i can turn it off? I'll give it a try and let you know..... Thanks!!

Lane assist! Duh! I don't have it so of course I would not think of it. Yes, turn it off. "Turn it off, turn it all off". :P

No problem here, LKA is switched off.

There's a button to turn it on and off next to the blind spot on/off button and dash illumination buttons. You'll know it's off as the little icon in the dash with two lanes and a car goes away. Also if you have the HUD the two grey lane icons disappear (which go white with a green wheel when LKA is on and detecting a lane above 60Km/h).

referring to inbalance of steering wheel weight between left and right or tramlining?

Yes, it's tramiling
Not something I realize on mine. Tramlining you may want to check the alignment first if the toe and camber are out it can cause a significant effect. Too negative a camber or too much toe out can cause this.

One thing I notice on this car it is very sensitive to road camber and probably attribute to the quick rack on this car. It can drift left and right depending on the road camber.

I believe I too am experiencing the same issue. Only when traveling on the highway I am having to make frequent slight corrections to keep the car in it’s lane. I don’t have lane keep assist and the car only has 220 miles on it. I think it may be an alignment issue but not sure. Let me know what comes of it for you

I thought the same thing and also monitored the air pressure as well. I took back to the dealer the next day, they checked the alignment and balance and said it was good. I haven't tried drifting yet, but it seems like it would be very easy in this car!

I will tell you my 1st experience with a vehicle that has lane assist. It was a rental of of Toyota Sienna when in Florida, driving from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale on I-95, felt like I was hydroplaning! Van was wondering left and right, felt like I was losing control of the vehicle. I had a 2012 Sienna SE and never had that sensation. Then realized this vehicle had lane assist and I kept getting warnings if I got close to the lines. Van would self adjust which took control of the steering from me, alas, I had that hydroplaning feel. Found the button to turn it off and voila! Steering feel was back, no wandering or hydroplaning feel any longer. Turn it off!
