Hey guys, I have a 2020 Kia Stinger GT1 with 35k miles and I have recently noticed a worn spot on my steering wheel. It doesn't seem to be peeling but I have no idea how something wore through the leather. I don't use any harsh products for my hands, and occasionally sanitize but I let my hands dry before touching. This worn spot is on the bottom of the steering wheel. Anyone have a similar issue or had any luck with the dealership? I'm assuming they won't fix it under warranty since I don't have "bumper to bumper" anymore. Also, if there is a good way to fix this, I would be open to trying it.MicrosoftTeams-image (10).webp

do you wear a ring or rings? stuff in your left pants pocket and your wheel is close to your lap? when you pivot to get out it's probably getting brushed by your right hip. clearly it's rubbing on something. and over time that's the wear spot.

Just started wearing a ring a year ago but I have also had this car for a little over a year. I guess if I turn the wheel it may rub against it. Definitely doesn't hit my hip/lap. I guess I will pay more attention to my turning and see if that actually causes it. I noticed it a month ago but it is crazy that my four year old civic doesn't have this issue.

it's in a place that you might not have noticed it at first? maybe this worn spot came with the car.
