I've noticed lately that the convenience feature of the steering wheel access has a mind of its own.

Most days, the steering wheel will move upward once I've turned the car off, and then downward again once I've started the car. Rarely, it will move upward *and retract* when I've turned the engine off (with the reverse happening on startup).

Anyone else notice this? I thought it was always supposed to do both movements?

Mine was like that from day one. It's also supposed to move the seat back and it barely moved it back. I ended up making a memory 2 with the steering wheel all the way up/retracted and the seat all the way back. It's habit for me by now to shut the car off then hit #2, start the car then hit #1 and auto start/stop.

You can adjust how far your seat goes back when the car is turn off.

Yeah, tried that. I also thought well maybe I drive the car with the seat almost all the way back to begin with and that's why it won't move back much. Nope.

At any rate I got tired of messing with it and just came up with a work around....

My seat slides back quite a bit; more than before I adjusted my driving position a bit further forward.

If you put the car in drive before the seat finishes moving it will stop. Not sure what would cause odd behavior when turning off, maybe it got confused somehow.

Have you by chance stalled the motor by having crap behind your seat?

I've had the "easy access" feature on since I bought the car (6 months) and so far the seat has always moved back when exiting and forward when getting in, exactly as intended. The steering wheel has never moved though (it's probably already high enough not to need moving out of the way?).

I have noticed similar issues. My steering wheel typically goes up, but does not retract when I turn the car off. However, once or twice it has done what I suspect is what it is supposed to do, which is go up and in.

My seat is a whole other issue. Even when I change the setting to 'Extended', when I turn the car off it still does not go all the way back.

I don't believe that the seat ever retracts "all the way back".

I’ve had the same issue. 99% of the time the seat moves back and the wheel moves up. That other 1% of the time the wheel decides to retract as far in as it can, which seems like unnecessary wear and tear. Moving up is more than sufficient.
I have no clue when/why it decides to retract.

Hey and howdy: at least yours moves; a recent complaint (one off "unicorn" thus far) observed that the adjustment of the "tilt" was a mere-shmeer one half of an inch: some of us tested ours and they are a generous two inches of tilt. :)

Mine didn't do much of anything from the beginning. I gave up on it early on and made a separate memory that moves the steering wheel max up and back and the seat back for entry/exit. It's not automatic but it's functional.

I traded my 19 gt1 in for a 22 scorpion. Part of the new infotainment is driver profiles. However, easy seat access does not work when in a saved profile. The wheel moves only. When i go to guest profile the easy access DOES work. So weird. I tried pulling fuse 30a for seats but that did nothing. I tried the reset memory seat trick and it didn’t work either. Pretty annoyed, my gt1 had been flawless. Also the doors creak badly.

Since my last reply, it seems that I might grown a belly, because now I have a new setting for seat #1 that also moves the steering wheel up and forward, along with the seat back, to let me get in or out...
