Steering too sensitive!

Hello I barely move the steering wheel to the right or left and it changes lanes. How do I make it less sensitive. What drive mode should I use?

To answer your question, I don't think it can be tuned. I believe all the modes have the same steering ratio.

edit: I'm kinda wrong, the drive modes changes the steering resistance but not the ratio.

Check your tire pressures. If they're way overfilled you'll get that jittery feel.

OK thanks for the info! I guess that's how it's designed. I'm just not used to a car with steering that at the slightest movement of the steering wheel the car will move to the left or right so much

That’s how a sport oriented car should be. Steering isn’t supposed to be vague and numb with a ton of free play. Nothing is wrong with your car. You’ll get used to it, and then you’ll never want to go back to a normal commuter car again!

Play around with custom mode. You can change the steering characteristics. As others mentioned, steering is tighter, or more sensitive as you put it, in sport mode.

I will echo, "this is how a good GT is supposed to be". Sport will add weight to the feel of the steering, but the precision is the same across all drive modes.

The steering ratio does not change. The different modes changes the weight of the steering. The Stinger has a quick steering ratio.

If you want a slow steering ratio, get a truck.

It is supposed to be that way at higher speeds, if a car has very sensitive and responsive steering at high speeds it’s pretty dangerous. I came from a 2014 S4 and the variable stearing ratio is much better on the Audi at higher speeds. You don’t want your car to turn at the slightest input when you’re going 90mph… or 140…

For the track it’s good but if you’re going 100mph you don’t want your car to turn at the slightest input, Germans understand that hence all their sporty cars will go straight while going 100mph when turning the wheel at a ratio that would make the stinger change lanes. You have much less rooms for mistakes with sensitive steering at high speeds so basically with the variable ratio that the stinger has its safe to say it’s not tuned for high speeds.

My coworkers s5 was far dartier feeling on interstate speeds doing lane changes than our stinger. The stinger is probably the most stable feeling car I've ever driven at higher speeds other than an E39 M5 I test drove before I got our 540i. However I believe I had the s5 in dynamic mode which locks the steering into the fastest ratio.
