Hey guys I am done getting my maintenance done at the stealer for the 5th time they have overfilled the engine with oil so I plan to do it myself even bought some jacks and all the paraphernalia.

Can any one tell me after all the oil is drained how many quarts to I need to put so the oil level is not overfilled? Meaning oil level will be between the upper and lower lines in your oil stick?

Thank you in advance, again guys never... never take your car to the stealer they don't F know what they are doing.

By the way mine is a GT2 engine.

Happened to me several times at my dealer as well and now I do my own changes. Sorry, cant give you the exact amount because it always seems a little different. What I do is measure what I drain out each time and refill with the same amount I take out.

after finding out the entire belly pan needs to be removed for oil changes (dumb - no "trap door"), i bought an oil extractor.

havent used it yet on either of our cars, but i did use it on my mower and riding mower lol

you can see exactly how much oil is drained, which gives you a good idea how much to put back in ...

You only need to remove the one panel and its very simple with a socket and ratchet. The oil filter has a small access door that is unlocked by spinning the small access door.

You will need a specialty tool for your rachet to loosen the oil filter housing though.

@OP what's the owner's manual say for oil cap? You didn't specify which specific model/engine you have. Mine takes a bit over 6 qts but I have the 2.5. Generally they take between 6-8 qts.

Removing the lower engine cover is vital when doing the oil change. You SHOULD be inspecting the underside for any leaks from engine, trans, driveline (if awd). That's how I discovered one of my front drive axle's bearing was leaking.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Oh mine is a.2019 GT2 is yours a GT2 as well? Thank you for your input

It takes little over 7 quarts on my 2018 3.3 to get to upper mark on dipstick. I leave the hot oil drain for about 30-40 min.

7.3qts for the GT2. The underside panels aren't that difficult to get off and I think someone here made their own opening like there is for the oil filter. However, I do agree with @JSolo: Getting underneath and removing the panels gives you a great opportunity to spot check for anything wrong, but you do you.
