Station Wagons are on the move , next big trend ??

Agree. Yuck. What I have seen I cannot unsee. I do have a 2012 Outback that a college son drives, but for vastly different reasons than a Stinger....safety, AWD, LOTS of room. I didn’t get a Stinger for any of these reasons.

I did! Whether we like it or not, the reality is that the Stinger offers the same type of utility as a performance oriented wagon.

If there is a resurgence in the popularity of station wagons, I predict that the marketing folks won't call them "station wagons". They'll come up with something that doesn't evoke images of 1960's suburban housewives.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Audi has always used “Avant” to label their wagons. Not many manufacturers use the term wagon. It’s the media and the masses that use that term.

Except for the roof rack.

Haha I’m sure you could add one to the Stinger! I’ve seen an S5 Sportback with a roof rack and it surprisingly looked good.

How about a “squareback”, sort of a play off sportback. Haha

If a "wagon" based on a platform like the Stinger had been available from Kia back in 2010, I would have been driving one instead of the two Sorentos I've owned since then. My daughters equestrian activities dictated a huge amount of cargo space and comfortable seating for long trips around the SouthEast. I've loved both Sorentos (first one was killed by a DUI in 2014) but would have loved having a "Stinger-like" vehicle much more.

And it still manages to look good doing it.

The majority of the (English speaking) world calls them "Estates"..

The “station wagon” title hasn’t been used in the industry for years, as said it’s folks recalling their parents vehicle of yore that tag modern wagons with the name and prefer to drive SUVs. Thing is, SUV are nothing more than lifted wagonsbut the height makes folks feel like they are so different when the concept is basically the same.

the A6 and RS6 Avant, are on track to be released in the US in 2020.
SOURCE!!!!?????

I'm going to sell my Magnum SRT for a stinger just when wagons start coming back. Oh well. Not like I can afford $100k on a car.

Like driving farther back from the front wheel, don't like sitting on the front wheel. It is easier to maneuver when you are sitting on the pivot.
