Static in audio after changing Drive modes. Apple Carplay

I tried a search and could not find anything on this. Occasionally, when I change drive modes, my music has a lot of static all of the sudden. If I unplug the phone and plug it back in the issue goes away. I have an iphoneX.

Tough to test another phone as it does not happen all the time.

Anyone else experience this?

Known issue. No fix that I’m aware of.

Don’t use it as I think Bluetooth sounds better (with my tremble reduced significantly)... and the fact that Waze/Apple Maps won’t show in the HUD, I find no value anymore in CarPlay. I use it when passengers want to play with it.

I like using waze though! haha. But I agree would be much better if it was in the heads up display. I feel waze navigation is better at avoiding traffic and stuff. But at least I know it is not me. Thanks for the response!

I'm with you-- Waze navigation is the best.
I have an I Phone 8 and when I upgraded the IOS I wasn't able to find the Waze app on the HUD. It went away. I then saw after I scrolled over a few pages to the left it was there all along when the phone is plugged in. I agree WAZE on the HUD is much better overall. I also realized if the volume on the phone is lowered the streaming volume isn't as loud and when it's up on the phone the car audio can go to full volume.

There’s a work around... change the drive mode graphic, which displays when switching modes, to not show or don’t display. Not sure the exact setting.

my audio mutes momentarily when switching between drive modes - no static. All my HUD issues between the car and iphone were resolved with the last iphone update. iphone 7 here

You can resolve this by changing the setting from having the car show you what mode you are in on the infotainment screen, to just having it show in the IP. Once you do that you won't get that issue anymore.
