For the life of me I can’t get the system to audibly alert me when I go over the speed limit. All that happens is that a little speed limit sign in the nav flashes red but no audible warning. I have the the GT2 or GT in Australia . I would REALLY appreciate any info on how to get the warnings.
FYI , I do get warnings for school crossing etc and I have ticked the speed limit in the nav alerts.

I'm glad mine don't do that, would be very annoying. I would constantly be saying I know I am....I's very hard to drive this car at the speed limit or below. ;)

hey av8r, mine has a speed alert....its called the police! hahahahahahahaahahahahahaa

All humour aside I try to stay under the limit how ever it would be nice to have a chime go off if I did. So do you guys have it or not?

The service guys are running around like chooks with there heads cut off as they don’t know. Some one told my mechanic there should be a ding when you go over the limit...ah NO!
Here goes the email battle now with Kia head office in Korea. Why dont these guys know about this and secondly if it’s in Hyundai’s cars why doesn’t kia have it. We don’t get UVO in Australia either nor is there an equivalent. The nav system is the most non user friendly device in the car!
Lastly the flashing red speed sign when you go over the limit on the nav display is ridiculous as the colour change does not stand out. The whole sign should blink not just the colour. By the time they get it sorted out I would have bought a Mercedes!

I used to have it in my Sorento (both my 2011 and 2015) but since the divorce, it seems to have been silenced..

UPDATE
Kia service confirm no audible warning. There is apparently an update coming but to change the way the system operates could take up to a year!

Used my Android auto for the first time today via usb cable and iphone. After an hour or so i had some unexpected chimes like a bell that kept coming through. Thought it must have been a warning through google maps. Couldn't figure it out.
Had my wife investigate whilst driving. Not traffic light warning, not speeding, had to un plug phone . It was sone sort of alert. Anyone any ideas.

Instead of a chime, I would just like for the speed limit sign in the heads up display to flash, or maybe just change color. Like with the lane departure. I don't want to have to explain the chime to a passenger.

Its been a year since comments were last made in this discussion and although there was expectation of an update at this point to introduce a more effective speed alert I can confirm the the most recent software/map update installed has not added anything in this area. Its still just the colour change on the infotainment screen speed sign which is of no real use.

Yep total bs. Must be only car that uses this type of warning. How the hell will you notice it?

US Spec Stingers do have a audible alert. It's done through UVO, which does not help the Aussie's but the car can do it!
