Hello everyone,
New to the forum and to my Stinger GT2 as of earlier this month, so hello!
Question for everyone - I purchased my Stinger from a dealership in Southern California. There was a $399 Spare Tire kit "added on" to the car that I thought was strange (as I thought a spare was included) but didn't question. Looking more and more, it seems it was supposed to be included? Has anyone had to pay extra for their spare? Suggestions on how to get a credit for it after the fact? I messaged the sales person but haven't yet heard back from them.
Otherwise super happy with the car so far!

Yeah definitely included. Not sure how to get around this since you signed a contract, but perhaps call Kia corporate or the VIP number? 855-454-2847

Actually....the Kia Stinger was originally (2018) available with two "Underfloor Storage" options (and maybe still) :

One included a compartmentalized tray with a flat tire repair set in the tray

and the other one - in place of the tray - was the aluminum spare "donut".

An image of the pertinent page of the (Canadian) Stinger brochure points to the HIDDEN UNDER-FLOOR STORAGE.

The question is now what was delivered and what was paid "extra" for. If there is a storage tray in the car and the spare tire is in addition to it, the charge would seem legit.

In other words, Stingers are sold with one OR the other - if only a donut was evident on delivery, the dealer did enrich himself with an irregular charge and should be reported to KIA America.

In reality, probably every Stinger in North America was probably sold with the spare tire, so take it from there.

Welcome to the forum. I never even thought to ask or look. I'm assuming that the spare wheel is an upgrade in some markets but not in the US/Canada, so it should come included (no extra cost). It is four hundred bucks! So that is pretty annoying. But fight it? I think I'd just "file" it for future use if my "honeymoon" with Kia comes to an end. I.e. if a trashing campaign is in order: use the spare wheel ripoff as ammunition. But hopefully, that never happens.

There is no charge for a spare wheel. Call KIA corporate to confirm it should have been included.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Sleazy dealer tactic at the least. I had the same issue but since I did get a discounted price, they argued I didn't really pay "extra" for it. If you paid above list price for the car, meaning you were charged for something that was included, you might get Kia to do something. Kia only took my report of the BS but didn't really do anything other than ask the dealer to call me. Worth at least reporting it to let Kia know how their dealers are lying to their customers. Definitely soured me on future business with Kia.
