• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Soooo...the bi-modal exhaust...

We may have found another to come on our Vic drives ( which we have not arranged yet )
We sure have, even last Sunday I really wanted to drive down too Geelong and maybe to Torquay, just too stretch my Stinger's legs, if I'm in your area , will let you know, maybe we can meet up even for a coffee , if your free.:)

The version from Kia Australia...what do you guys think and how does it compare to local aftermarket bi-modal numbers like XForce?

Caught this on YT of a guy testing out the Kia version after install with the dealer sales guy (I guess?)

This video was what made me finally decide to get the exhaust, no regrets

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
So I'm guessing the advantage of the "official" exhaust is that it's set up correctly (bi-modal system operates when it's sposed to operate) and that it's endorsed (for want of a better term) by the manufacturer. Are those things worth the extra price you pay compared to the aftermarket systems?
And it carries full Kia warranty.

I'm in Bendigo, a few Stingers here, nobody waves lol. BTW, there is a TSB on the Lumens bi-modal, an issue with the actuators? My Stinger sounds loud 90% of the time now, if I was 18 I'd be stoked but too loud for a old fart like me. Not sure what is involved to fix this issue, haven't got time to get car fixed as was told an all day job - I've just been made redundant so have to do school drop off and pick up now :( Like sands through the hour glass....

Oh, so sorry to hear of your redundancy, will you be looking for more work or likely retrain ?:(

Thanks @Flameangel, part time work hopefully, back to study for 18 months from February (have an entrance exam tomorrow). Stinger may need to go to a new home soon, could only justify getting it to claim a tax deduction for being used for my job. We'll see.

That's not good maybe having to give up Stinger, but if you get more work that's all that matters. Good luck with your Exam, I wish you all the best :)

Has anyone else heard about the TSB on the Lumens bi-modal exhaust?

I stopped by my Dealer today and the service dept is not aware of anything.
There is a new bi-modal system out which is pretty much plug and play with no need to run wires to the instrument cluster therefore the dash doesn't need to be removed. Apparently they've found a way to tap into electrics and information from inside the rear quarter panel cavity. You would think that with a lot less labour the cost shouldn't escalate like it has but Dealer blames it on the newer technology.....believe what you like!

Would have been handy if they had done that with our installation. Dealers just trying to make more money.

Yes, but the part was manufactured by a third party which also provided fitting instructions. Good to see the latest version is easier to fit but I think the price tag will turn a lot off.

So what sort of money are dealers asking for? The website is saying $3315.92 which if I'm reading it correctly, includes fitting.

That's quite a mark up from when I had mine installed which cost about $2500.

Yes, but it's all negotiable in the overall equation. Some members have got very good deals.

Was that the new or old system though?

I'd love to see a set of installation instructions for the new one to see if I could do it myself. ANyone seen a set yet?

I got mine in April this year so I would assume it was the old system.
