I'm looking to do a few things to the car, and the desired bits will be below with my currently selected company parts, though please feel free to list what you'd prefer to have in it!

Intercooler: mishimoto
Cold air intakes: prefer injen/HPS
Spark plugs: here I want iridium, but not sure which
Exhaust: kunstwerk/bastruck(want it valetronic, good performance, but not too loud when closed, and decent output open)
Downpipe: Lap3 or sxth (catted, 200-300 cells)
Chip: either lozic, or JB4(something safe with good output that I can remove for checkups)

Let me know what you agree with/would change please!

Downpipes you cant go wrong with any honestly, i'd buy lap3 cause i prefer them as a company. I'm not sure where you are located, but i think w/o secondary cats the car still passes emissions. So you could go catless and save some money too. Spark plus everyone goes with Denso or HKS and basically nothing else, gap will be dependent on what your tuner says. As for a tune the most friendly is Jb4 and its also not detectable at all where an ECU swap can be so if you want no trace of being tuned JB4 is your answer there. Mishimoto is a solid choice for an IC, that or BMS. As for an intake I've never seen anyone run an HPS yet. Injen is a great option, or once again BMS will offer you basically the same gains for less money and possibly an easier install. As for valved exhausts i literally have no clue, but i hope i helped with the other mods. :)

Yeah, thanks a lot for the suggestions! Glad some of my choices were correct in someone else's opinion :)

I’m so glad you asked this question. I am wondering the same.
Can I ask a couple of related questions?
If you do the catback, do you have to do the Downpipes as well? Also, if you were having all this done in a shop (I haven’t worked on a vehicle since I was about 20) what is a ballpark cost for all this?

You don't have to change down pipe. I'm doing mine to add a bit more power. The down pipes are a separate charge. I'm looking for catted simply so it's not as loud as straight, and doesn't get the sulfur smell/bad emission. I was gonna go exhaust and intercooler and it was 600+300 for labor. Those two I would say are toughest, sparks, cold air intakes are things that are easy to do.

I've done most of the research, but obviously people with the mods done would have better input, especially here on this forum

Thank you very much! I'll be looking into prices/price differences between set ups, and different companies

Thank you! I do definitely want as much power as I can get so maybe the downpipes will be a thing I do. Maybe I need to look more at cat vs straight because I do want a nice sound but that smell doesn’t sound too fun. I’m new to all this and don’t have friends that are into this stuff so I’m trying to learn as I go here. Thanks again :)

for plugs go with HKS. downpipes are not worth it unless you want more sound. mids are easier to do and pretty much get the same sound results.

Well that gives me a question, if I get mids, does it connect with exhaust? I thought the cat back exhaust only need the pipe to turbo to be valid?

if your getting a catback exhaust like ark, borla, mbpr, etc then yes the cat back bolts up to the end of the mids. it doesn't bolt up to the downpipes, the mids bolt up to the downpipes. it goes turbo to downpipes to mids, to cat back. It's called a cat back for a reason, it starts from the back of the last catalytic converter.

Midpipes are almost pointless aside from changing the sound. Injen intakes are great but I wish they had heatshielding, may want to consider some intake snorkels like Velossatechs too.
I was looking at snorkels, but I was told they are more likely to suck water, and there's a lot of rain in NYC. I was looking at CAI that has water/heat shields as well

Dash cam/rear view monitor: Pormido PR998 or your choice
Side vent mesh
Mud flaps: Rokblokz
Window tint: ceramic or high end carbon

Even with the best intentions, it's all too tempting to get caught up in accessorizing because it's available, and admittedly fun. IMO, many mods are popular because they look or sound cool--literally or conceptually--and bought on faith, without taking a lot of time to understand how they effect the car at a deeper level, positive and negative.

Watch what you eat => watch how you mod.

/soapbox

Enjoy!

i have JA scoops and I don’t get any water in my intakes. And I’ve driven through several hard rains on the highway.

FYI on the Mishimoto IC, I ordered one end of August direct from Mishimoto's site, apparently they are out of stock and it's on back order for some unknown amount of time.

I have these also, no problems.
